I love hearing people’s stories about how they met their SO and how their love story began!
I’ll start- I saw a cute guy on this friend’s Facebook page, so I clicked on his page and decided to add him as a friend (since we did have a ton of mutual friends, I thought it was okay). We started messaging shortly after that and flirted a bit but he was busy with travel hockey and we were just sophomores in high school afterall.. But then we lost contact and junior year came and went and at the start of summer after junior year I ran into my SO at the ACT test at a local high school. I hadn’t ever seen him in person yet– we had just been FB friends and talked over message, but I knew it was him.. but he didn’t notice me and it was an important test so I just went on with the day. But a few days later came and I went to text this friend who had the same name as my SO but different last name initials. I accidently texted my SO instead of the other guy (because I had scrolled down one name too far in my contact list). We then started up talking again over text message. One day, my friend and I wanted to hangout with another guy who was friends with my SO. They invited us to go to a carnival. We went to this guys house but never ended up at the carnival. I remember in detail sitting at the kitchen table and my SO was sitting across from me and I decided to send him a flirty text that said “You’re cute.” Turns out.. he never got the text.. and we left the guys house and during the car ride home my friend was texting someone.. I asked her who she was texting and she said my SO’s name.. I was kind of jealous so I started texting him.. He told me “he prefers blondes over brunettes.” We nonstop talked since then and a few weeks later started dating. It was supposed to be a “fling”.. I wasn’t at all looking for a relationship. In fact, I was interested in my SO since I wasn’t looking for a realtionship since it was summer. His friend convinced me to just say yes to him asking me to be his gf.. and I’m so glad I did because four years later it’s still going strong and was far from just a “fling.” Love the story and love him 🙂 Totally fate if you ask me..
So let me hear your guys’ stories!!!

- Wedding: May 2014 - Royalton White Sands
When I was 13, my best friend took me to church with her, and I met one of her best male friends. She’d shown me pictures of him before and I thought he was really, really cute.
Two years later, I went to Kroger with my mom for some groceries for a brunch she was hosting. The cute cashier looked familiar, but I didn’t know where from, and I tried to flirt with him.
Two months after that, said cute cashier started coming to my small private school… and the rest is history!

My husband chased me since I was 16, even back then when I had a boyfriend. I thought he was cute but I was attached so never interested. At 21 years old and single I went to a party, he heard I was going so he went. I gave in, danced, talked and so we’ve been together ever since. He said he knew I was the one when he first met me, he even knows what I wore the first day he saw me. I fell head over heels in love with him. He never gave up on me. Love him. Now were both 33 and expecting a baby 🙂

We met at work. I had a boyfriend at the time, and he was interested in this other girl. We became pretty good friends, a few months later I broke up with my boyfriend, went through a “wild” phase, the girl he liked decided she was going to stay with her boyfriend. At one point I was trying to be nice and set him up with my sister, but that fell through!
Then a few months of being single, he invited me to camping with him. I ended up not being able to go, but we hung out with his step brother and friend a couple of days after that, and started dating.

We were 5/6.
We went to the same primary school, and were friends really. When I was about 9/10 my stepfather started doing business with his dad so we were thrown together a lot throughout high school (11+) even though by that time we went to different schools. But we stayed friends all though that time and hung out and things. At 14 we became fwb and the rest is history 🙂

We met at high school – it was my first day of freshman year, and his first day as a senior. I honestly don’t remember meeting him because I was so overwhelmed, but we had some mutual friends, and eventually started spending time together. We didn’t start dating until about a year after we met.

We met at college- our first introduction was him making me a sandwhich. I flirted with him a bit, because I thought he was cute, but since he was working, he kind of ignored me. We lived across the hall from each other, so we saw each other frequently, and hung out a bit just casually with friends, I didn’t really notice him. At Halloween, he went as a Chippendales dancer, and after seeing him like that I knew I had to know him better haha. I’m shallow, he had nice abs, what can I say? Took him a month before he realized I was interested in him, and we started hanging out all the time, and we offically started dating at the beginning of December.

Mine is not as romatic as everybody elses.
We met on a dating site, I was just about to delete my profile after many weird messages from many weird guys and there was a message from him in my inbox (he denies it but i messaged him first a few months ago but he never messaged me back) anyways after messaging back and fourth for a few days we swapped numbers and started texting and a week after he first contacted me we had our first date.
We have been insperable ever since.
He’s the best thing i bought off the internet.

- Wedding: April 2013 - A court...
We worked at the same grocery store :p . His friend wanted him to be his wing man I guess but he was so awkward. Though my now dh wasn’t what I thought was my type I liked hanging out with him more. We were always playful and joking around, and since I had just gotten out of a two-3 year on and off relationship I thought nothing of it. Then he began liking me, we started dating (though I admit I was very distant since I wasn’t ready) but he was very patient and understanding.

we were randomly assigned to the same apartment by our university housing service. I lived there for a few days before we actually got around to meeting each other, so we like telling people we’ve lived together since before we met!
funnily enough, two of our room mates ended up getting married as well, and I know there were a few other long term couples that came out of that building. they should call it the housing & matchmaking service!
a friend’s daughter is living there now and I asked her if she was enjoying it, and she said ‘yeah, it’s so much fun… but I haven’t found a husband yet!’ as though that was something that should have been provided! lol.

Firstly, he said “hello” and I was distracted and walked right past him, completely oblivious. That’s going to end up in the wedding speech, lol.
We met whilst volunteering, he lent me something I was supposed to give back at the end of the day,but of course I forgot and took it home. I then frantically looked on the group mailing list for his name and found his email. I sent an apologetic email to which he replied “don’t worry, keep it” and the rest is history.

- Wedding: July 2017 - Bristol zoo
We met on the last day of an anime convention when I was 19 ^^
I was sat with two friends on one side of a circular booth and I think some of his friends were sat opposite that he was talking to. He’s super outgoing so he just trned to one of my friends and asked if she was tired, she’s kinda standoffish at the best of times though lol and completely blanked him. I felt sorry for the guy and started chatting to him, turns out we both had blackberries and exchanged bbms 😀
Basicly we stayed in contact even after the con was over (which I completely wasn’t expecting) and became a couple about a month later 🙂

I actually knew his brother and parents for 4-5 years before we met. FH was off in the Coast Guard, so we never got a chance to meet. I met him briefly when he was visiting, for about 1 min and he left. Years later, we were in school together. I was like “Hey, I know your brother, lets be friends too.” We tried to date, but it was weird. Wrong timing, we werent compatible then with current mind-sets i suppose. We remained friends for 2 years. Then started to hang out more often, began dating and have been together ever since. 4 years now 🙂

He was at *my* pool table at a local bar. In the interest of polite pool manners, I asked if he and his friend would like to play a game. Friend didn’t, he did, the rest is history. I mean he was cute and all but he was at *my* table :)… the cute didn’t really register until after we were playing and talking lol.
