@Pappy8:  I surprised my husband with both kids.. WIth our first child, I wrapped the test stick up in tissue paper and put it in a gift bag. I got an I love you card and said I bought him a gift for us to do.. He thought I bought tickets to a show. Nope.. It was a test! He was super surprised and cried….

With our second, it was Christmas time. I wrapped the test up ina  box, taped it down so it didn’t roll. I bought our daughter a big sister shirt to wear. When he came home I gave him the gift as an early present. Before he could unwrap it, our than 3 year old screamed, Daddy look at my new shirt… LoL.. He knew than! He was surprised than too. And, she was super excited to tell Daddy she was going to be a big sister.

That is how I did it for both. And, I am so glad I did. I loved surprising my husband. 🙂

I took the test alone on the afternoon of 9DPO, mainly out of boredom and a hunch (I really didn’t think I was pregnant). DH was out, due home 90 minutes later. I wrapped the test up in a gift box with pretty bow and put the dog in her special “My life is about to change and I don’t even know it yet” t-shirt. When DH got home, I asked him to open the gift. When he did, he said “is this what I think it is?” so I handed him the dog to tell him something. I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

With dd we both realized it about the same time, I ended up taking a test to confirm without him. I just got a bfp a few days ago. I took it without him, he was working a 17hour day & I couldn’t wait that long. Next morning I said “Would you rather get major news at the beginning of a 17hour day or at the end?” Lol. He knew automatically.

I called him at work. I had been feeling crappy and had already taken 3 HPT all negative. So I told him I was going to the doctor because I thought it was something with my period. He kept saying I was pregnant. So the doctor called us after hours and left a message. They just said to call them in the morning. He asked what the message said and I told him. So the next morning while we were both at work I called the doc. The nurse told me I was pregnant. After making sure I heard her right for 5 minutes I hung up and called my husband. He had been waiting for my call so I told him. No fancy surprises but he was happy none the less.

I’m TTC my first. My husband and I had our first kiss on a bench at a beautiful waterfront here, and it’s also where he proposed.

We’re moving in late July, so if we were successful this cycle (I…sort of have a feeling we may have. But who doesn’t, right?), I plan to stage a night at that park again. Get coffee/smoothies at a place nearby, go over there. Give him a little box with a ‘daddy’ onesie inside.

Cliche, but we’ve had just about every other important event in our lives at that spot.

I had just left town for two weeks for work, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something funky was going on with my body. So I asked DH if he wanted me to wait until I got home or just test. He told me to test and then text him a picture of the results so that he could look at it when he was “ready”. =P

I tested the next day at like 7am with FMU. He called me at noon, all sleepy, and said he was excited.

Wow, I feel like such the minority here, lol!! My husband and I both were freaking out because I was 8 days late and we werent expecting anything because I just got off birth control and I thought my body was just regulating itself, and trying to readjust to being off birth control. So I was feeling a little more tired than normal. He basically FORCED me to take the test because I was okay not knowing because I was so sure I wasnt and didnt know what I would do if I was. So he went out one night bought the test and made me take it, and I walked away thinking like “yeah right” and he comes to me like OMG, come look. And we just stood there in shock, lolll! The Dr. told us it would take 6 months for the BC to fully leave my system. Who said Dr’s are always right??
