We told our families and closest friends at 10 weeks, and put this facebook annoucement up at 16 weeks. We started telling friends and other family in person (that we didn’t want to find out via facebook) after our 12 week ultrasound.

My husband and i are TTC and i am in my two week wait! EEK! I have ordered a caricature off etsy of me and him.. except in the caricature i am 9 months pregnant and it says COMING SOON BABY ****. I’m going to give it to him to open. I will tell him as soon as i get my positive! I ordered it in advance so i could have it ready! I will probably give family the same picture to let them know but it won’t be until after 1st Tri since i’ve previously had miscarriage and the Drs have told me i would be difficult for me to get pregnant.. I don’t want that hype again that i had the first go around with my let down in full view.

This time we announced at 8 weeks (family knew at 5 weeks).

We happened to have a family photo shoot shortly after finding out so we had this picture taken & I added the text

For my husband, I took a picture of myself holding a thought bubble at my stomach which said “Hi Daddy”.

For his parents, we are giving them this.

I like so many of the announcement ideas, that I believe I’ll use a bunch of them for the various groups of people we’ll announce to.

We found out on DH’s birthday that I was KU. We told my mom the next day. I put my positive pregnancy test in a gift box and had it on the table. My mom asked how DH’s birthday went and I told her to look in the box and check out his present. She was so excited she ran around the house. For my siblings we were planning on telling them the weekend before our wedding. Well, we were actually finishing up dinner with FIL and had just told him when I got an urgent phone call that my brother was in the hospital. He was involved in a terrible car accident and had many serious injuries. It was a trying week for our family. Towards the end of the week once my brother had finished having his surgeries and was in the clear, my mom recommended telling him to lift his spirits. He was feeling so guilty because he thought he was ruining our wedding. DH found a little onsie at Khols that says “Tough, like my uncle”. We got it and wrapped it in a bag. We went to the hospital and gathered my family to come and sit down with him. He was crying saying he is so sorry that he probably won’t make it to the wedding. I told him that the wedding is one day and it is no longer that important. I told him there is something a lot more important I want him to know about. I gave him the gift and his face lit up as soon as he pulled out the onsie. It was the first time we saw him smile all week. He was so excited and his guilty sad tears turned into happy tears. I told him the most important thing right now is for him to be healthy enough to play with his nephew or neice. It was an emotional reveal and one I will never forget.
