I have four bridesmaids and I can't seem to find anything that pleases all five of us.

    What did you do?

I only had two but I let them pick out their own.  I was super relaxed about it and told them just to go with black and not long.  They both looked so good, were comfortable, and will get to keep them and wear them again.

I told them the color and sent them to the Alfred Angelo website. They all ended up picking the same one. When that one didn't work, they all ended up picking the same second one.

I picked a color (Plum at David's), said it had to be floor length, and let them go from there.  Two actually made theirs (they found fabric the same color), and one bought hers on ebay.  Only two bought in store.

I just went and picked one, then e-mailed them the color that they need to have it in, the date that it needs to be ordered by, and where to go for measurements. Luckily they all were fine with this and loved the dress. I even had some BM's thank me for not putting them in the middle of a drama-fest by having everyone go to pick it out. I still can't believe it worked out for me! lol

I sent them an email of 3 different dresses. 2 from JCrew and one from Lily Pulitzer. I put down the prices and they all chose. My older sister (MOH) was the only one to pick the Lily Pulitzer dress which was $268. All of myother BM's picked the same $99.99 JCrew dress.

I gave them some simple guidelines (color, length and fabric) and let them choose their own dresses. My girls really appreciated being able to wear what they selected over something that I choose just because it fit my "vision". I wish all brides would let their girls select their own dresses. What looks good on a size 6 will not look good on a size 26.
