@DiamondnLovey:  I would search etsy since you’re not looking for fresh flowers. Try things like “purple bouquet” etc.

I found this pretty one just now: http://etsy.me/KmVIin

For myself, I knew I loved hydrangeas and wanted white with a little green so when i met with my florist she was awesome and helped me figure out the rest!

@DiamondnLovey:  I did a lot of googling for ideas.  I’m not very creative and am definitely more of i need to see a picture to decide what i think.  I started off wanting roses and star-gazer lilies because those are my two favorite flowers…but the pictures I saw of the combination, while beautiful, just didn’t quite fit what I wanted.  I changed my mind about 3 times before I finally decided to go with all roses and stephanopolis flowers. LOL Beautiful, simple, and elegant 🙂

@DiamondnLovey:  alot of google.

I knew I wanted red, so a year before the date went to a flower wholesaler to see whats in season (we’re diying the bouquets with the help of a gifted friend) in that colour. Selected the flowers we liked most and randomly held them together to see if they matched. Then, I did alot of google image searching on bouquets with those flowers to confirm how they could go together (and get the blend of numbers of each flower right).

First pic is the google inspiration, second is the flowers we will use (adding some roses, not nearly so many carnations, more pin cushions, it will be quite eclectic!) All up, the bouquets will be less than $100 for 5 of them,

@DiamondnLovey:  No advice for artificial flowers, but colours, yes!

I don’t know what the rest of your colours are, but I think neutral/nude/blush coloured flowers are easy to match and look nice with most things… Shamelessly posting my bouquet and hoping to inspire!:

I knew i wanted yellow roses so I found photos of rose bouquets and told the florist what I wanted.

You might want to pick flowers that are in season to save $$.

I’ve wanted orange tiger lilies for years, so I told the florist. And she suggested whatever the blue flower was that she put in them, and in the end she put in some orange roses too. It was beautiful! I had the only bouquet, the bridesmaids had corsages.

Why not go to a craft store pick out 3 sets of flowers you like and make your own?
