Weddingbee boards

We decided to have our wedding local to us, versus his hometown (a 17 hour drive away) if it was my hometown far away, might be considered, but I would have been a nightmare planning long distance!

We looked at local venues, regular banquet halls, and it just didn't seem to fit "us", we didn't even know what we wanted, but that definitely wasn't it. Thought about destination, but it meant the most important people we would want there (grand parents, great grandparents) wouldn't be able to make it. We asked a few local caterer's some unique venues where they had catered that we may not be thinking or know of for the wedding.

Caterer that we didn't end up going with (lol) led us to the venue we chose, which was a private farm with a barn recently put on the property "for pretty" and we held the ceremony in the garden infront of it and reception in the barn! Didn't go with a theme, the property and barn held enough theme and it's a wedding afterall and we just decorated it tastefully! We were pretty open with what we wanted, but really just wanted everyone to be comfortable and have fun and I think we achieved that.
