So i went dress shopping for the first time at Davids Bridal with my mother. I have a week vacation in april when we are going to hit up a few boutiques but wanted to get the ball rolling and see what type of dresses would look good on me. It was actually a pretty disappointing session. The customer service was great, but not the dresses…i liked two (ball gown & mermaid), but I had no emotions what-so-ever. And it made me so confused as to which style I should get.
I am not an over emotional person, but I want to have that OMG moment. Can you ladies share how you felt when you found YOUR DRESS. Do you just know? DO you always cry? Or did you just try on a bunch and then decide which one was the best?

@Meant2bMrsC: I loved the first dress I tried on. Because I felt it really suited me and I loved the lace and the cut and the feel of the fabric. Keep looking!

I didn’t cry, but I just knew it was the one.

I did the same thing. I started at David’s and was not impressed, but I got an idea of what shapes work on me. I tried on about 10 dresses and had no emotional reaction to them. I started to think I wouldn’t have a “moment” when I found my dress.
When I found my dress I just couldn’t stop smiling, everyone knew it was my dress before I could even talk. It made me feel happy, beautiful, and like a bride! I teared up a little, and I still tear up when I picture myself in the dress on my wedding day.

I had a huge smile on my face and I couldn’t stop looking at it or thinking about how I would look in it on my wedding day and I didn’t want to take it off. Just knew it was the one.

I cried the moment I put it on…and when I walked in it, my sister started crying. I actually felt like a bride in my dress..such a great feeling 🙂

I honestly felt like I couldn’t breathe and then felt a sense of calm. I could just picture myself walking to my fiancee in it and everyone gasping….:D

I didn’t have a “moment” at all. I tried on a dress that made my mum really excited, and my bridesmaids (except my sister) went nuts for it when they saw photos. I didn’t tear up, I didn’t get emotional, I didn’t think “Hey, I look like a bride.” I just picked it because I liked it, it suited me, and wasn’t too expensive.

When we were going to have a “traditonal” wedding, I tried on so many dresses, and didn’t feel particularly fabulous in any.
Now wwere eloping the first dress I bought (a $10 eBay purchase, still has $150 price tag on), I knew it was right. Very “me,” simple and beautiful

@Meant2bMrsC: The first wedding dress I tried on I was blushing and had a huge smile on my face, but it was not what I envisioned myself in on my wedding day. I kept trying on dresses and even though a lot of them looked nice on me they were not “the one” because I could not envision myself.
I eventually tried on “the one”. It matched my theme perfectly, I could see it looking amazing on me once I had the right size, I knew my fiance would LOVE it. I didn’t cry at all and I didn’t get that “feeling”. But I love my dress Im constantly googling it to look at pictures of the model in it.
