I found it searching for dresses and dress pictures too! And once I started to go through the boards I became addicted to it.
I'm not really sure, but I think it was google. I was searching for something wedding related and it came up as one of the suggested sites.
I originally found Wedding Bee through an engaged friend who was/is obsessed with the site.. but once I started doing wedding searches for myself, it was always one of the first sites to pop up on Google!
A GUY friend was following a bee for her ideas and sent me the link when he was planning his wedding! FI and I were engaged at the time but weren't doing much planning yet. Finally when we started planning I remembered this site and decided to come back to it and check it out more!
I actually found it before it was technically even weddingbee! The owner, Bee, had her own planning site on xanga that was xanga.com/weddingbee and I followed it and then naturally kept following when she transitioned it over to Weddingbee when she decided to enter the wedding industry after her own wedding and started it from the ground up. I read along with the first generation of bees! It's definitely come a long way since then.
@ohheavenlyday: Wow, that's a long journey. I discovered it through a really good friend that always raved about it. She's moved to Germany now. Then two of my really good friends got married this summer and I started reading for mine too. It's very addictive and has such good pointers. I love the bee.
Google here, I was looking for an answer to an etiquette question. I started looking around quickly became hooked.
I was googling something and then found it! I like it much better than Wedding Book (Facebook), because it's a lot less drama AND you can sell things!!
I did a google search on DIY invitations and weddingbee pulled up with a tuitoral. I was hooked!
I found it through a google search before I was even engaged! I didn't sign up until I got engaged though :)
Lol, the mean people at The Knot told me I should go here if I wanted to appreciate the "rainbows and butterflies" parts of a wedding. :)
I went to law school with the original Miss Flip Flop and read her blog when she quit the 'bee after just a few posts (she quit for ethical reasons when the site was bought by eharmony). I clicked over because I was curious about it, and remembered about it when I got engaged eventually.
One of FI's friends got married two years ago. When I first started planning I met with his wife to get the ins and outs of wedding planning and she hipped me to it. I sooooooooooooooooooo appreciate her!! LOL
I hate to even say this but I honestly do not remember. I DO remember that it was the summer of 2009 in July. But I'm so glad I did!
Google search for some perspectives venues - I was SO confused at first, but it was so helpful right away that I was hooked in no time!
I remember! I joined on Oct. 30, 2009 when I was waiting. It is ironic because on Oct. 30, 2010, I will be having my bridal shower. I remember the date because I was going home that weekend for a visit. I first found weddingbee a few months prior when I was still waiting. My FH and I were getting ideas for our potential wedding and trying to figure out how much weddings cost. I was searching for the twist wrap dresses by Dessy to find the prices and the google search came up.
I found weddingbee after I got engaged. I was visiting my MOH in California when she mentioned that one of her friends that I knew was also engaged and was very excited because she had just been chosen as a blogger for some wedding website. That acquaintance turned out to be Mrs. Pencils and the website was weddingbee.
This was really the only wedding website I went to and the only wedding blog that I read, so I am so glad I found the hive.
Google-fu.
I can't remember what inane thing I was searching, but WB came up, I clicked, and here I am.
@jo.lee - Wow! Shouldn't it all be good?
I was in the same sorority as Mrs. Lemon in college...she recommended the site to me.
@mishelleez: I found WeddingBee the same way you did...through the dress section of the Classifieds. It took another week for me to venture into the Boards section and I am so glad I did!
I joined just after I got engaged. A girl that i work with is also planning her wedding so she gave me a bunch of wedding sites and blogs that she likes to follow. Now I'm hooked along with everyone else!
I was googling a pic of a dress I liked out of curiosity, and the site came up with someone's real pics posted. Then I saw there was a waiting section, and felt right at home :) So I signed up shortly afterwards. I figured it would be good to get a head start and learn about weddings since I was in a few already, and would soon be planning my own! It has been so helpful!
I found it after googling my dress two days after I bought it. I wanted to know what my dress looked like in white. Best search result ever! :)
I found WeddingBee (and my other favourite, Once Wed) long before getting engaged. I'm a very crafty person, and DIY things posted here kept coming up when I Googled for certain projects.
I made sure not to spend too much time here though (well, at least when FH was around!) so as not to freak out FH. It was definitely the craft projects that brought me in to the wedding-blog-fold though.
I found weddingbee googling for newport ideas and found Mrs. Corn's blog. I was hooked!
I was engaged for a month when I finally decided to start looking up fun craft ideas for the wedding when I googled DIY save the dates and wham! Mrs. Ducklings gorgeous save the dates came up. I was hooked at first click :)
A friend who got married before me told me about it.
I googled how to clean my e-ring and Weddingbee popped up with a post asking the same thing!
I was actually googling something for my FSIL's wedding in which I was a bridesmaid and helped out with a lot. I created an account but didn't post or visit any more until we started seriously talking engagement a few months later.
My fiance kept talking about our wedding to me and finally she just started a blog. She called it "Wedding Bee" after her first name... I didn't like the name at first, but eventually I came around!
I think I'd heard about it in the WedFo on Craigslist. I REALLY wish I'd have started coming on here sooner; not only because it's so friendly, but I would have planned better.
It kept popping out every single time I searched for something wedding related...I mean everything from dresses to themes to invitations lol ...I ended up giving in and joining to see what all the fuss was about haha!
I found it through craigslist wedding forums. I had seen several people talk about it and I finally checked it out and have been here ever since.
i googled unique escort cards and one of them was on here...i've been hooked ever since!
The first wedding blog I read was A Backyard Wedding - and the blogger linked to Weddingbee.

How did everyone find weddingbee? Did you know about the site from a friend or did you find it by accident?
I found it when I was searching for a dresses I wanted pre-owned! It came up on a google search and I am so glad I don't know how I could have planned my wedding without it!
