Use Yelp! For recommendations. You can also check out gigmasters.com

We are using a friend of my sister’s so for us, it was an easy find (actually a plan b since we couldnt find a decent live band).

I found ours via a rec! 🙂  I say ask around, and go from there.

Ours is a referral from a friend. I HIGHLY suggest you hear the DJ play, somehow, somewhere. The DJ, in all honesty, can make or break your reception.

agree with jrswiggy. the dj can indeed really make the night a success or totally ruin everything.

two best options are:

1) a dj you actually saw in action.

2) first hand referrals

we found our dj from attending my cousins wedding. i think it’s all luck.

I actually found ours on craigslist & then before I booked him, I asked for references from past couples.

Seriously, you can find some great deals on craigslist. I actually booked all my vendors (photographer, dj, caterer, baker for my cupcakes & our cookie favors, make up artist, eyelash extension stylist; everything!)

Our photographer referred ours and told us he used that same DJ for his own wedding!
