I googled wedding make up and hair and came up with about 4 in my area and then I called and interviewed a few and found the lady who did a wonderful job on my hair and make up.

MrsWinTraining2014:  Yikes! If you called them today, are some not open on Mondays?  Look outside that city and try to find someone that can come to you.

I used a stylist I’d previously been to that was in the area.  I didn’t have a problem with this particular vendor!

MrsWinTraining2014:  Mine was on the preferred vendor list from my venue. Does your venue have a preferred vendor list?

If you called today, Monday, then they may not be open. Try another day of the week.

The lady who regularly cuts my hair is the one I used to style for the wedding day as well. She was so excited, and she did a great job. I was happy to have someone who already knew how my hair was.

I did have to hunt for a makeup artist. I used all the wedding review sites, and I also used Yelp. I took a chance and went with a new place that had few – but all positive – reviews. They did wonderfully!

I found my salon on yelp.  I searched for “wedding hair” “updo hair” and things like that.  If any of the places you found have other contact methods like email I would try that as well.  Some smaller salons have appoinment only or limited hours, so it’s hard to catch them by phone.

MrsWinTraining2014:  The city we’re getting married in is quite large so there are lots of hair salons. I found one that specializes in bridal parties just by searching online. What city are you getting married in? Maybe there are bees here who know of hair/makeup artists in the area?

I used my regular hairstylist. She was supposed to come to my parents’ house while I was getting ready for my engagement party, but at the last minute, I decided to take my dress to the salon and get ready there (it was closer to the venue). I didn’t have time for a hair trial, so she winged it and did a great job!

We also hosted a next day brunch at 11am, and my regular stylist couldn’t do it. I hired someone on her recommendation. I was happy with that person’s work, but could have done it better myself probably.

I suggest asking friends and family for recommendations. That’s how I found my trusted stylist.

Can you try Google instead? Type in “city name hair salon” or something like that?

Check YELP.  I love that site!
