He went shopping in secret, picked it out on his own, and surprised me with it!

    (He has pretty kickass taste…)

He took his mom with him, and picked it out on his own. The ring and proposal both were a suprise he planned and did everything on his own. lol

    LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT.

@SaugaBride: I didn’t see my ring until the proposal. I loved the surprise.

I showed my two best friends ideas of what I liked, and when he started ring shopping he talked to them and got some information and then went and had it designed.

We went shopping together, but I had the ring already picked out. He tried a few times to buy it on his own, the jeweler was awful and kept trying to sell him something different. He wanted to make sure I got exactly what I wanted so we went to another jeweler together to get my ring.

He asked me to send him some pictures of rings I liked, but then he picked it out on his own (with the help of his mom – which I was totally fine with, she has awesome taste). After he proposed, he told me that he “just knew” when he saw the setting that it was the right one. He was glad he brought his mom along to help out with the diamond selection, though!

We saved for the ring together, and I picked it out together (although it was mostly my decision, I just wanted to make sure he didn’t hate my choice).

I order the centerstone myself and worked with the jeweler on the CAD for the custom setting, and she got back with him when it was done so that he could propose to me on his own surprise timeline.

@SaugaBride:  We looked at rings together, but I had also looked at rings on my own and had a pretty good idea of what I wanted. When we couldnt find what I wanted in a store, we searched out a jeweler and had one custom made. I was the point person who talked to them and worked everything out.. He approved and wrote the check. When it was delivered, he signed for it and hid it away until he decided to propose. I didn’t see the ring in real life until it was on my finger after he proposed.

I looked at rings online for like half my life (lol I’m a bit obsessed). We went to jewelry stores to get an idea of what we both liked. Eventually I saw the perfect ring online and he bought it for me. I was a part of the process throughout.

I told him that I wanted a round solitaire & showed him a pic of the setting. I had wanted a 3 mm thick cathedral setting with flat shoulders haha. But, I had shown him the pic of the setting like 4 years before we actually got engaged, so he must have saved it somehow to remember that long. He picked out the diamond himself.
