We actually met several times through several different friends, but didn't actually start really talking to each other until he came in to my work one day, looking for a book.
eharmony is the greatest thing ever! :) FI lived 9 hours away when we began dating, so it's not likely we would've met otherwise.
I met him through a mutual friend while I was out at a bar one night. We didn't start dating right away and saw each other downtown several times before he asked me out. He was nervous because he liked me so much. :)
he works at a bank. i walked in to apply for a Visa card and he called me 2 weeks later!
We met through mutual friends via a birthday party. We kind of have the best meeting story ever, we met in a circle haha.
We met in college during freshmen orientation week while skipping out on an orientation event (rebels unite lol). My group of friends went for a jog and bumped into him and his group while coming back to the dorm lobby. We caught eyes, struck up a conversation (all the while I'm sweaty and self-conscious), and the rest is history. 
We went to high school together! :) Had a class with each other my sophomore year, been together ever since :)
We met at a Starbucks! I was studying, and he needed to use an outlet to charge his dying phone. He asked if he could use the one under my seat, and we started chatting. We clicked immediately, and talked for a good 20 minutes before we even realized that we didn't know each other's names, and finally introduced ourselves :)
We met at an engagement party through mutual friends. I was also super drunk and that helped conversation alot.
I met him Freshman year in acting class! yep we are high school sweethearts!
Back in high school, my first job was at the local Subway. He is from a neighboring town about a half hour away so I never even saw him before. he and his dad are house flippers and he came into my subway about 6 times in the evenings I was working over a span of about 3 weeks. We never said anything but I thought he was so handsome. A couple of weeks later I get a message on MySpace (haha!) and it said "Hey, are you that girl from Subway?" It turns out we had a ton of mutual friends and he saw me write happy birthday on some girls wall and decided to check and see if I was infact the girl from Subway.
I played hard to get for 3 years and we finally started to date when I was 20 and he was 21. The rest is history. 
He lived on the floor below me freshman year of college!
DH and I met at church in our Young Adults group.... after a 2 year friendship & 18mth engagement we said I Do =)
(I didn't put in dating time b/c well we didn't really date before getting engaged... lol)
At a cabin party! On an island... we sat together on the boat and all tehe.
I was just learning to bartend in a sleepy little neighborhood bar and he was sitting quietly minding his own buisness drinking a beer and playing one of thoes video game things you see at the end of bars. I keept asking him how to make drinks and to taste some to see if I made them right. He was really quiet and had a poker face. I ended up asking him out and the rest is history. :)
Other: We met at college, she lived three dorm rooms down and we ran the GSA together.
Other: Online in a game but through a mutual friend. He jokes that the first time we ever met, I set him on fire (it's true).
He was my ex's friend, I would feel bad for that but my ex was an abusive ass.
I usually don't post I just love to read the posts but I love my story so I had to share.. I went on a 24 hr turn around trip to Vegas with my best friend (on valentines day weekend) I was drunk and dancing the night away in a club, he came up shook my hand and asked me to dance. We danced, my friend gave him my number and I thought that was that.. Until he texted me the next day to hang out (in Vegas). We were already on our way home though. Then I realized we had the same area code. Yep, met in Vegas and lived 15 minutes from each other. Came home from my first date with him (thats a whole other epic story) and promptly picked out my wedding day to him with my sister. I later confessed that I picked out our wedding date after our first date and he made sure he proposed in enough time to get married on that date.
We met during undergrad. Although we were both English majors, we never took a class together and didn't meet until we both got summer research fellowships. Super nerdy, I know, but I love it!
We met at a lake for an open water triathlon swim practice. It was 6:30 AM: no makeup, hair in pigtails, swim cap...he called me the next day!
@kc3636: We met in college and were merely acquaintances. We started to get to know each other better after college when we were at the same party.
We started dating when I was 16 and he was 15. His family came to the summer campground that my family stayed at when he was in middle school. I think he originally played dolls (excuse me 'WWF action figures!') with my little bros. Then he grew up and we took a liking to one another :-) Chatting on AIM and calling one another on our moms' bag cell phones isn't quite romantic, but it's a fun story.
We worked together at the same restaurant waaaayyyy back when...went on a few dates, but I was still stuck on the BF I moved up to Pcola for. Then he became my second BF ever, but we broke up...and finally reunited (it will be 7 years in January). The restaurant we worked together at is acutally where we will be having our rehearsal dinner at (it is an Irish Pub, that eveyrone around here loves and it fits in with our St Patty's day wedding).
We met at the Catholic Student Center at our university...we didn't get together until years later, though.
We were three of the same classes our junior year of high school. Our school was fairly big but he happened to be hanging out with one of my friends occasionally and was brought into our huge group whenever we had a big gathering.
Cinco de Mayo pub crawl! Our friends knew each other, so he wasn't just some random guy.
OKCupid.com! Thank god I finally succumbed to peer pressure from my friends and joined the site, or I'd be missing the best part of my life. :)
