How did you pick your wedding date? How did you narrow your choices down? Does your wedding date have a special meaning?
Our wedding date is the official first day of Summer, we were actually going for June 22nd, a Saturday, but saved a significant amount of money by switching to a Friday!
I love how it’s the longest day of the year!!
We narrowed our June choices by writing each Saturday (not thinking we were going for a Friday) on paper, and tried to see which looked the prettiest on paper…haha.

Darling Husband loves number patterns…like, hates that we started dating 8-9-09 and not 8-9-10. (What was I supposed to do, leave him hanging for a year?) So, when I saw July 9 was a Saturday (7-9-11), I was sold. I’m a teacher, so we pretty much had to have a summer wedding, anyway.

Our wedding date is the Sat after Thanksgiving. That was the only date this year we could get all our family down for the wedding. Everyone will be off from that Thurs to Sun so it just works!

We had it narrowed down to a month because of FI’s work schedule and the amount of time we wanted to plan and save money. When we found the venue we liked it turned out to only be available one Saturday that month. I immediately looked up the date, and it’s the fall equinox, which I am sooo excited about, but that’s not why we picked it 🙂

ours might sound weird. We have know each other for 8 years been serious for 4 years 8+4=12. Thats how I picked it but also my parents were married on 8-6

We knew we wanted a fall wedding, and orginally were hoping for Oct. Then, there were home college football games the first two Saturdays we chose (making traffic in the area crazy busy for our out of town guests, and hotel room rates double in price). If we pushed it back a few weeks (to Nov.) we would receive half off the venue, it’s a BYE week for the football team, and hotel rates were half the price….SOLD! 🙂

@peaches13: That’s awesome, yeah we kind of have a month pattern…we started dating in April, Engaged in May, and will be married in June! .. future baby will probably be in July at this rate…hahaha (in a few years)

@peaches13: I wanted that date too cause of the pattern!
Ours was just the only one available for the venue I wanted that wasnt a blacklisted ‘bad luck’ date.. which turned out to be a Sunday 7/10/11

it was the only weekend we were going to have time to do it lol.

We wanted a Holiday weekend and Memorial Day Weekend at my 1st and 2nd choice venue were booked.

We originally wanted November, but when we started looking at that month, a lot of places were already booked. So after doing some thinking we decided on 1-12-13. Fiance is a numbers guy and told me, 1+12=13 13+13=26, which is how old I was when I met you. Such a dork, but I love him!

We both were thinking September and once we looked at the dates 9/10/11 was the perfect date

@pinkshoes: I had 6-9-12 in my arsenal in case he took forever to propose. 🙂
@BellaDee: What’s funny is that Darling Husband asked me out on 7-11-09…flip those last two numbers and that’s our wedding date! And we actually started dating on 8-9-09…so we got married just a month shy of our two-year anniversary. Neither of those things were intentional…just fun to observe now. 🙂

The night we became engaged, I immediately started going through my calendar. I knew I wanted a long engagement so 2012 was the year for us (we were engaged in 2010). I didn’t want a winter wedding so Jan-March was knocked out immediately. April was an iffy month. There’s too many May birthdays in both of our families. Plus there’s graduations, communions, etc. June is too many graduations/parties. July and August are too hot for us. September is a good month towards the end, but FI’s birthday is the 18th so I figured he didn’t want it too close. November-December are too close to holidays for me. So, there leaves October and April. I went with October because it’s when it’s starting to cool down and it’s really pretty outside. The 13th worked perfectly because it’s FI’s lucky number. It’s also the house number I grew up in. Less than 5 months to go!
….Shew. I’m crazy, I know.

I really wanted a December wedding, as early in December as possible. When I saw that the first Sat in December was the 1st I was soooooo happy. I love the ring of 12.1.12, it just felt right – then about 2 minutes after saying I think that’s ‘the date’ FI’s Mom let me know that is her parents anniversary date from their marriage in the 40’s 🙂 That just double confirmed.
