Recently, I’ve become fascinated with cupcaking! Darling Husband and SIL got me two of Karen Tack’s cupcake books for Christmas and I fell in love! With the wedding and such, I hadn’t gotten around to making any till now, but today Darling Husband and I decided to go for it.
We made their Chinese take-out cupcakes, and if I can say so, they turned out pretty dang good for our first try….
The ‘noodles’ are just piped icing and we used fruit flavored Tootsie Rolls for the broccoli, peas, carrots, pork, and chicken pieces. The fortune cookie is caramels melted together, then rolled and folded.
It was really easy and we had so much fun doing it! Darling Husband wasn’t too on board with the idea, but he had fun in the end. 🙂
How’s your weekend going?

@piglet_625: Wow, you did a really good job with that. I didn’t do much at all today. Went out to a craft show, and ended up being sick most of the morning and later afternoon. Went and fed the ducks with my niece, and am waiting for Monday to roll around so I can get my birthday card from my boyfriend =D

Um, that is AMAZING!!! It looks so REAL! Great job! I’m jealous of your decorating skills.
My saturday was filled with boogers and diapers, haha. I dragged my Darling Husband to babysit my nieces. We did get to go swimming for the first time this year though in my parent’s pool. And I had an excuse to buy them really cute bathing suits. 🙂
Then I came home and took a NAP, haha. They suck the energy right outta you, they do!

That is so cool!
I went out shopping and now I’m watching Star Wars. Super exciting I know, I just really don’t want to do my HW. I can’t wait for school to be over!

@piglet_625: That looks insanzy awesome. My goodness!!
I went to a cousin’s bridal shower. It was tons fun. It made me realize that I’ll be able to experience this myself soon. This whole marriage thing is slowly, but surely sinking in.

That is awesome!!
We took a bike ride and wound up and the queens zoo. The zoo was really depressing… But it was a perfect day to be out, enjoying the weather,

I am having a lazy weekend, just been watching bridezillas, I can’t believe some people act like that, but at the same time can’t stop watching!

Love the cupcakes!
Was up at 4:30, did the dishes, cleaned up, husband woke up, we watched toy story 2, went to the grocery store, post office, stopped at sonic for a chicago coney, and came home. Cleaned both bathrooms, did a few loads of laundry, cooked dinner, and here I am.

Ok, so technically it’s Sunday here but I spent yesterday doing housework and doing an assignment.
Somebody please remind me not to leave my assignments to the last minute (it’s due Monday and I started in on Saturday)!

@Kemma: Can’t tell you that, I have two things due in a week and a half that are half completed!

The broccoli looks the best out of all that. You definitely need to post a tutorial or something.
I spent part of it trying to figure out how to DIY a cupcake stand since I can find the styrofoam circles without it costing me an arm and a leg, then went to work at our restaurant for a little bit to relieve my mom. Now back home hanging out since can’t really go out because it is definitely storming too bad to do anything.

I got up early b/c my daughter had someplace she needed to be. Stopped by the Goodwill, ran some other errands, and made a couple of “hangers” for my Chinese lanterns since I am doing groupings. I also took a nap b/c a nice thunderstorm rolled through.

I didn’t do much of anything…sat online for most of the day, took a shower, then went out shopping aimlessly. Got a new pair of jeans that fit like a dream and are soooo comfy, so I guess it wasn’t a total waste!
