How did you tell your DH/FI/SO you were pregnant?

We aren’t pregnant yet but TTC. In my head I always did something cute like waited until he got home from work and dressed up our dog in a big sister shirt or something. But in reality, I’ll test first thing in the morning, and can’t keep a secret from him for my life so I’m sure I’ll just just back in bed with him screaming and tell him right away.

I also figured I’d do something really cute to tell him, but as soon as I got the BFP i ran upstairs and yelled “WE’RE PREGNANT!!!”

@jesssamesssa:  Mine wasn’t really cute. I had been feeling pregnant and DH was also convinced I was pregnant, by at 15DPO with all bfn’s we figured I was probably not. I had a couple of tests left so I tested while DH was in the shower. The pink lines showed up almost immediately. I ripped the shower curtain open and yelled “Do you see a line?!” while shoving my pee stick in his face. In the end I think it was best. He would have been disappointed if I had kept it from him for very long.

I called him immediately and said “OMFG I’m pregnant!”

I thought about trying to wait the 4 or 5 hours until I got home (took it over lunch) but I couldn’t.  Let alone wait a few days to come up with something cute…

I was in Europe with my mom when I was suspecting it, and took the test the day after I got home when I was still on PTO so I had some time to think about it.

I got a pack of onesies and wrote big brother on one, and put it on the dog, then tied a pink and a blue balloon to him and sent him downstairs. He thought the balloons were chasing him so he freaked and went tearing around the house. My DH was like what the heck!? You’re not pregnant! lol

We took the test together. I was quite a few days late for my period and told him. We both really didn’t think I was pregnant, but decided it would be best to take a test.

It was a Sunday, so he drove me to the pharmacy at 12 when it opened, we came home and I peed on the stick and told him not to look until the time limit was up.

When we both went into the bathroom to look, we were both shocked, happy, I started bawling. I was so pregnant that the test line was darker than the control, and he still said, “wait, are you sure?”

haha. I loved that we found out together, at the same time. It was very special to share our immediate excitement together!

While we were TTC, I purchased a knit hat that looks like a NY Rangers helmet, and matching ice skate booties. So the morning I got my BFP, I put the hat and booties on a little stuffed giraffe we had, and I woke him up to give him the giraffe and the pee stick. BUT, I had also told him a few days before that we definitely were NOT pregnant this month, because I was charting and I thought I could tell quite clearly from my chart that this just wasn’t the month. But for whatever reason, I decided to pee on a stick that morning anyway (my period wasn’t late yet), and surprise! We were pregnant! So when I handed him the giraffe and the pee stick, and I said, “We’re pregnant!”… His first (groggy) response was, “What? How?” LOL

I was going to use my proposal video and cahnge the last part to “Will you be a daddy?” but I found out the day of my friend’s wedding, didn’t have time to change it, and didn’t have the patience to wait so instead I ran downstairs, flipped on the light, shook my husband awake, and stuck the stick in his face.

I was able to wait until he got home (thankfully he only worked a half day) then made him lunch and planned on telling him after lunch but he was taking to long to eat.  I ended up calling him into the bathroom with a mouth full of food after I peed on a digital for confirmation.

@jesssamesssa:  We found out the weekend after father’s day, so I bought him a belated father’s day card!

I tested over lunch and had time after work to grab a cute card that said “I love you” on the front and on the inside it said “I love us” with two big hearts… well I added my own little heart and wrote at the bottom “all THREE of us!”

I woke him up at 5:30am waving the pee stick in front of him. Classy 🙂

I texted him.

Then left multiple pee sticks out on the counter to see if he could so the faint lines too.

So romantic.
