I woke him up (he knew I was going to test) and told him "You're gonna be a daddy"
We knew it was coming (being on Clomid and all) but it still was a happy surprise. :) Good luck!
You could get a card from a local store that says something about "daddy" on it. :)
I'm not pregnant, but I read that Tori Spelling wrapped up the pregnancy test as a present. That sounded cute and simple =)
I'm not pregnant, but one of the funniest stories I've heard of "Telling Him" was when my friend found out. She picked up a giant cinnamon roll after work from a bakery and took it home and baked it. When he got home from work he told her that it smelled delicious, which she replied "Yep, we have a bun in the oven!" Too bad he didn't understand so she had to explain it to him... Heh.
You could really pile the food on your plate tonight. When he gives you a crazy look you could say, "What? I'm eating for two!" and smile.
:) Aw, congrats!! I'm so happy for you!
First time i was 19 and so scared so i called him and went over to his place and told him to guess what was so important that i had to come over. He guessed it right away.
Second time i just showed him the posotive pregnancy test.
Next time i plan on making some pink and blue cupcakes or something like that.
I took the test at 4 am (I was too impatient to wait!) and the line was so faint, I couldn't tell. So I turned the lights on, woke him up, and made him look at the stick. He couldn't tell either so we went later that day to get a new test, and he was there when I took it.
Aww congrats! I am not pregnant nor do i plan to be for a LONG time BUT I decided I am going to get him a worlds greatest daddy t shirt and give it to him : ) , You could try to google and see who sells them year round? Or go get a cake from walmart and have the bakery write in frosting "worlds great daddy!" and give it to him!
We are TTC and my hubbers told me that I better not ever take a test without him there. So no surprises for him. Which makes me sad because Iwuold love to do something super cute!
I handed him the pregnancy test; he asked what the sign meant as he had never seen one. I handed him the instructions and let him figure it out. Not too romantic I know... But I was too excited to say anything!
I know a girl who wrapped a baby shoe in a box and gave it to her husband :)
I think that's cute :)
I was too surprised and not convinced it was real, so when he got home in the evening I made him stand under a light and then handed him the test and said that's a line, right? what do you think it means? He's like I think it mean's we're having a baby.
But I'm way too skeptical of everything so for the next few days I kept testing and showing him the line every morning and asking if it was a line. So I guess I just laid the pregnancy crazy out there from the getgo.
I drove to his place at 3 am after I got off work. He met me outside in my car and I just told him.. We were both a little shocked to say the least. It was not planned, but it was the best thing that ever happened. My pregnancy brought us even closer and now we have the perfect little family :)
Not pregnant, but I loved this idea ever since the episode of Full House...
Make a dinner full of "baby" related foods... BABY back ribs, BABY carrots, BABY potatoes, etc... See if he catches on when you ask him what they all have in common ;)
You could buy him a papa burger for supper from A&W
Or in the words of Dr House you could say "You have an adnormal growth in your abdomin"
I just told him as soon as he got back from work...a few seconds of shock and then he was grinning!
If he isn't deployed at the time or about to deploy (chances are 1 in 3 that'll happen), I'll probably be ALL sorts of flirty, pull him over to the couch or bed, sit on/over his lap, and call him Daddy. (Or else casually bring up baby names... Then when he changes the subject...)
If he is too close to deployment to change it, I'll have HPT in hand and tell him I'll probably want to kill him when he gets home. I would be 8-14 weeks pregnant when he leaves, and he has 6 month deployments, so I'd be 34-41 weeks when he got home - provided he gets home on schedule. (He's not military, and he refuses to search for another job until he's got a civilian deployment under his belt. Because 4 in the Army wasn't enough.)
If he's deployed... I'll tell him I'm going to be putting on a whole lotta weight while he's gone, and it's all his fault. And that I'm going to make some big purchases while he's away. And that I can't even drink while he's gone for six months, OR have my favorite food, sushi. And that we REALLY need to pin down a baby name.
I texted him "Sesame Seed." When he wrote back asking what I meant, I called him and said that was the size of the baby right now.

Hi Bees,
I just found out that I am pregnant this afternoon and I am going to break the news to FI when he gets off work in a couple of hours. I don't think I have time to do anything cute to announce the pregnancy...lol
How did you break the news to your hubby/fi/so?
:-)!
