I know that a lot of women put the engagment ring on their right hand for the wedding. Is this what you did or plan to do? Did you put the e-ring back on your left ring finger at some point after that (or did you just leave the e-ring on)? Did you do any type of ceremonial thing when putting the e-ring back on your left hand? (I read that someone had their Maid/Matron of Honor hand the ring to the groom during the ceremony and he put it on after the wedding band). Do you wear the wedding band “closer to your heart” or do you put it on second? I know there is no totally right answer, but I wanted to see what some of you have done.

My rings were soldered together for the wedding day, so when he put them on they were together. I wear mine closest to my heart.

I moved mine to my right hand when I was getting ready. I don’t wear my engagement ring (it’s a pearl, set on a really delicate band, and I have a mad fear of knocking it loose) so I can’t offer anything as far as when it would have been put back on, but if I did wear it, I would wear my wedding band closest to my heart.

I wore my engagement ring during pictures and then on the way to the church I gave it to my Maid/Matron of Honor, she wore it during the ceremony and gave it back to me right after so I could put it on with my new band.

I didnt even think of this!
I assumed you kept the Ering on.

I wore mine on my ring finger of my left hand, Darling Husband put on my wedding band, and then I switched them around after the ceremony.

I wore my e-ring on my right hand for the ceremony and moved it on top of my wedding band on my left hand right after the ceremony. No ceremony to that bit… just did it while we were hiding in the stairwell waiting for people to go downstairs 🙂

Depending on what kind of band get for the wedding band. We havent looked at those yet. But right now either wear the e ring on my right hand or give it to my Maid/Matron of Honor until after the ceremony

I plan on wearing my e-ring during the ceremony and once we are done I plan on switching it, so the e-ring is on top of my band.

@Ugoob: Same here!
Are you not supposed to wear your e-ring during the ceremony?

I wore my Engagement Ring on my right hand for the ceremony and then moved it onto my left hand right after. Actually Darling Husband had to say something to me because I hadnt even though to do it!

The Best Man will have both of my rings during the ceremony. When Fiance puts my band on, then we’ll do the “engagement ring ceremony” to get my engagement ring back where it should be! I’ll wear it on the correct finger up until start time, though!

I’m weird and wear the engagement ring first, wedding ring on top, so I’ll just wear the e-ring for the ceremony and put the wedding band on top during the ceremony.

I’ve been wondering how I’ll go about this, actually. My right hand ring finger is a solid size 7.25 at least… and my ring is a snugly fitting 6.5. I try to shove the ring on my right finger sometimes and it just ain’t happening. I don’t know if we’re choosing maid/men of honor yet… I was thinking about wearing it down the aisle, then giving it to my grandma to wear during the ceremony.
I’m also working on the logistics to have a ring-passing to get our wedding bands to us. I want them to travel together through all 150 of our guests so that everyone in attendance has a part in holding our rings, passing them forward, and giving their blessings for our marriage. Not sure how this will work out but we’ll see 🙂

I had my wedding band soldered to my engagement ring, so when Darling Husband put the wedding ring on me, the e-ring came with it!
