Are you going to have your last names anywhere else in the STD? If you aren't, you should have the return address with your last names so that people are sure which John is getting married.
Our full names are both on the STD itself. In that case do you think just first names is OK for the return address?
(Your response makes perfect sense, but it's also making me chuckle, since FI is the only man who has been in my life for the last eight years, so folks would have to be pretty out to lunch to think it might be someone else!)
I think both first names would be fine. Especially so the calligrapher won't have to write as much! I just meant that I might be confused if I got an STD for Mary and Bob's wedding if I knew a lot of Marys or something, not that people aren't paying attention to your relationship!
You don't actually need any name at all for the return address. If you want it anyway, I'd acutually suggest doing last names only (that's how I've seen it done whenever I've seen names at all)--Just "Doe - Birds"
That is SOOO pretty.
I think we're just doing first names OR last names, but not both. Too many words for our names. :)
@Sweetheartdealer That is excessively cute. Where did you get that from, or did you just design it yourself?
I agree with LittlestBirds that your return address is absolutely darling. Please share
where you are getting it!
That's an adorable return address SweetheartDealer! We just did first names on our return addresses.
@Sweetheart Dealer -- I cannot get over HOW CUTE that is. Man, I have stamp envy. I wish FI and I were settling down somewhere after we get married and I could have cute stamps like that. Apartment life...
@Littlest Birds -- I think if you have your full names on the STD, you're fine doing just your first names on the return addy OR you could leave names off all together and just put your address. FI and I used our first names only for return addresses on our invites and RSVP cards -- but then again most of our families already know we're "living in sin." :)
We put
"Last Name" (his and my soon to be new one)
"Address"
Thanks, gals!! Ooops, Sorry, I completely forgot to put the link!! i got it on etsy at -
The seller was really nice and I think the price is very reasonable!!
Thanks for the link, Sweetheartdealer! In the meantime, I also found some cute stamps on Paperwink (via one blog or another, I forget which it was.) I love these!
oooh, littlest, I like some of the paperwink ones too. Tooo many cute stamps!!!

We're about to tell our calligrapher what our return address is, and I wasn't sure if it should read "Mr. John Doe and Ms. Littlest Birds" or just "John and Littlest" or what. FYI this is for the STD not the invitation.
