My Fiance has been great about wedding planning in that everything I come up with I run by him first, he goes with me to every vendor meeting and we make a lot of final decisions together. What I’m having trouble with is incorporating his interests into the little details.. and he hasn’t been able to think of anything either.
How are you showing off your FI’s personality in your wedding, or how did you if you’re already married? I’m really more interested in hearing about decor and the little details, as I know that we will collaborate on music and food choices and everything.
And if you have any suggestions for me that would be great!! So far our colors are blue (my fave) and green (his fave), we plan to screenprint engines onto his groomsmen’s ties or bowties, and.. oh, that’s it!! I really want to incorporate his love of motorcycles though. He is also great at gardening (will kind of be incorporated in our table decor), working with his hands and building stuff, and he is a mechanical engineer. I’ve had some ideas, but it’s hard making things cohesive!!

I’m having a personalised cake topper (similar to below) which will show us handcuffed together (we’re both police officers), him in a football scarf and there will also be a model of the dog who is a shared love!
I’m also walking down the aisle to “you’ll never walk alone” which is the Liverpool Football Club anthem (he’s a big fan) but a more classical version of it by Sissel.
Perhaps you could have a cake topper with him on a motorcycle?

- Wedding: September 2013 - B&B
My cousin and his Fiance found a cake topper with the groom riding a motorcycle and her on the back lol. Even if you don’t put it on top of the cake, some brides have a caketopper and then a second one as just a decoration for the cake table…What about using the mechanical engineering idea or his love of gardening in some way for your guest book?
My Fiance is an avid outdoorsman and loves camo. (not knocking it for other brides, but SO NOT ME for my wedding.) He also has several guns and likes to practice, and goes hunting. The men’s bouts will be made out of shell casings that have a pin soldered to the back of them,
Now I was against camo for the ceremony, formal pics, first dances, etc… but once the reception is under way I don’t care, its all about fun after that for me! So he and his guys are getting “party shirts.” The collar, cuffs, and front panel of the shirts are just plain white (or ivory or whatever color) but the sleeves and back panel are some crazy, wild, fun pattern. So when they have their suit jackets on, you can’t tell. They take them off for dancing.. BAM.

@mel801: I LOVE the handcuffed together cake toppers, that sounds really cute!
@Sunnyday278: Party shirts sound awesome LoL! Custom made I’m assuming??
Thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunately our guestbook will be provided by our Photobooth, so I don’t think I can customize that >.< And I’ve definitely thought of the cake topper idea, but one of our friends actually had a topper of the bride and groom on a motorcycle so I don’t want to “copy”… one idea I had is to get two mini motorcycles .. maybe I can paint them in our colors or something? We each have a bike but I don’t think I can get tiny replicas of each.

Your could do special cufflinks with little motor cycles, gears, etc.
I saw something really cute on pinterest, where the bride (at the back of the cake), “hid” a little spider man at the bottom, like he was crawling from out the bottom of the cake. This is something I would like to do for SO, but instead a little batman.

chocolate cigars in candy buffet since he smokes regular cigars

Fiance is obsessed with the Green Bay Packers, so our wedding colors are green, black, white, and a touch of yellow (enough to make him happy). We’re also going to offer ice cream cake (his favorite) plus my favorite dessert instead of traditional wedding cake.

FH has been a big part of wedding planning and design. First, we’re getting married in Vermont which is a special place to us but also really special to him. He loves the outdoors and hunting and snowboarding so our overall theme is def a woodsy vermont feel. He also cut down a tree and then into slices to use for our centerpieces and also a cake stand and has been procuring barn boards to also be used for table runners. I’ll also be surprising him with a Grooms cake with a hunting theme. I think overall there will be a lot of us together and us individually represented in our day 🙂

Darling Husband is an athlete in a rather intense sport and also a HUGE Starcraft 2 player. Since he plays the Protoss race I had them airbrush the logo onto a bandaid (for the injuries he sustains at work lol) and put it on our cake. It was a total surprise and he loved it!

We really haven’t incorporated much of his interests. I actually feel kind of guilty about it. We’ve got my favorite colors (brown and peach), my favorite animals, and books. Everything gets run by him, he just doesn’t seem to have too much of an opinion. I might do a garter for one of his favorite teams, but we’re not planning a garter toss, so he’s the only one that would see it. I’d like to incorporate batman in some way too… I just don’t know how.

He and I have been planning it together. We share a lot of interests, so it’s not as hard. But it’s his wedding, too. He picked the colors, we’re designing all of the paper goods together, I made him a zombie bout. He wants to surprise me with some of the decorations, which is awesome. We’re making the wedding about our shared interests, because it’s about our shared lives.

We’re big hockey fans so our cake topper will include a Stanley Cup replica, my shoes will have our team’s logo on them, and his socks will also have our team’s logo on them (I’m a sucker for those cute shoe/sock photographs!) Our wedding colors are the team’s colors as well. Also, he’s picking out the flavors for the cake and deciding on what alcoholic drinks will be served.

Fiance is obsessed with hockey. We’re having a hockey themed ceremony complete with the indoor ice arena and a hockey stick unity candle holder. Ushers will be wearing hockey jerseys and our invites will be hockey tickets. :]

We incorporated FIs love of food and cooking into our favors by making red pepper jelly and BBQ sauce. His love of history where represented in his attire which included a nice old school vest. We had a midnight buffet with all mexican food inclusing some of his favorites. Our ede cliff wedding was his idea with a compromise of an indor reception since I did not want to spend 5000$ on a tent.
