So I just started this new job on nightshift so there’s about a dozen of us each night. When I first started there was a guy who I thought was very nice, a bit odd, but overall a good friend.
He doesn’t have a car but is on my way home so instead of him waiting an extra hour after he gets off for his other friend to give him a ride home I offered to drop him off. Did this a couple times, no big deal.
Anyway, the last couple days I realized he may just have a crush on me. Just the little things he does or Women’s Intuition, whatever you want to call it. I feel nothing for him but friendship and this is part of why I want to distance myself a bit more.
The thing is he’s very friendly and we (along with a few others) sit together at lunch. He’s close to 30 though and he still acts like a child which gets on my nerves, mostly because I’m there to work and he just wants to visit.
Here’s the (kind of) scary part. A few days ago I was coming home (I didn’t see him when I was leaving and I wasn’t going to walk around to offer him a ride home so I just left) and I was getting pretty close to where his turn is and I noticed a pretty big black truck following way to close behind me. Like if I stopped to fast it would hit me. There were a bunch of red flags going off and I just sort of thought of him. I tried to see but the sun was at that perfect angle and I just saw a silhouette but it could have been him. I know he doesn’t have a car but that doesn’t mean he didn’t borrow this one.
The truck turned just after his usual turn and he probably could have got home that way. I was so shook up that I didn’t go home right away and drove around a while just in case. I’m not sure, asking because he’ll probably be at work tonight and I can really use any advice I can get. I’ve only known him about two weeks but I’d really like a little space without being rude. Thanks a ton!
