Honestly is best policy.

if I went this route and I wouldn’t have to worry about my Ashas looking different from a diamond wedding band.”

Tell him, “I’m a little nervous that my Ashas will look different from a diamond wedding band, do you think I should switch my setting?”

Tell him that and see how he reacts……

If you word it in the way above, and not ” I WANT A NEW RING” I think he will react well 🙂

I told my fiance I didn’t like my first one and he understood. If I’m going to wear it forever he wanted it to be one I loved.  So hopefully yours understands to

CBWFlove:what if you just said “honey, you know how much i love my ring and want to wear it forever, but we knew the asha setting wouldnt hold up that long, and im worried about finding a band to match the asha stones….but i found this setting that is the more durable twin to this ring that would simplify things for is, what do you think?” just make sure and remind him its not that you dont love your ring its that your worried about durability and things like that….
