I think doing it like you said is the best bet, but you might want to still use the backup just in case
I say take both and use extra protection.
I'm not sure if because its a start pack the rules are different, but If you forget on, you just take it as soon as you remember. So take your sunday pill asap , then later at your scheduled time take your next one.
Take Sunday night's pill as soon as you pick up your pack on Monday morning. Then take Monday nights pill as usual. Use a barrier method of contraception (condoms) for 7 days. That would be my recommendation, i used to work in a gyn office:)
You should be ok with your plan. That's what the insert usually tells you to do in the event of a missed pill.
Another option is to start tomorrow morning as soon as you pick up your script, and continue this pill-packs dose in the mornings with tomorrow (Monday) being day 1.
Maybe your mom will have a sample or can get you a script and you can start the pack tonight? Just food for thought.

So I overslept today and didnt make it to the clinic in time to get my pills, which Im supposed to start tonight (Sunday). If I pick up the pills tomorrow morning (early, like 8:30am), can I just take my Sunday one then and take my Monday pill at my normal time (11pm)? Should I use backup protection til next Sunday just in case? Im on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo if that makes any difference. Help!
PS Im also going to ask my mother (a nurse practitioner) the same question when she gets home from work tonight..just thought Id get two opinions :)
