Okay, so I just had a terrible mishap. My MacBook I’ve had and loved for ages has broken. I accidentally dropped it and that was it. I’m not sure how the hard drive is, but the screen is ruined. Is there any way to access the hard drive files without the screen?? It is really imperative because I have stuff for med school due soon that is on that computer. HELP PLEASE!

If its just the screen thats broken, you should be able to plug it into an external monitor and still use laptop.

Can you plug in a screen to it? I had my screen break on my old laptop and I just plugged in a screen for my desktop to it. Although my computer was a Microsoft but it might work for Mac too.

Unfortunately, I’d have to have an apple monitor and I don’t have one! 🙁

Unless you have a spare monitor your only option is to take it to a PC/Laptop repair place and allow them to retrieve the HD.

alpinebride: You can use any brand monitor. It doesn’t need to be a Mac.
