We got married 6 months ago. At the time I did not pay for a professional videographer b/c I had heard so many people say they never watched their wedding video, really didn’t need it, waste of money, etc.
After our wedding, I was really wishing I could see our first dance, and wishing I had it recorded b/c it all flew by. I was thrilled when a really good friend of mine told me her husband had recorded everything on a handheld flip type recorder – I know it won’t be the best quality, but still, something was better than nothing.
Well – it’s been 6 months – and they won’t give me the video. I’m beyond frustrated. They claim they’re too busy to burn it to a disk for me – despite my offering to go to their house and burn it myself (we live maybe 15 miles apart), despite being told multiple times that they spent a whole weekend doing nothing (if you did nothing couldn’t you have spent 5 minutes transfering the file, pretty please). I even tried to nicely offer money for the video b/c I thought maybe they felt taken advantage of or used which was not my intention at all (remember, I didn’t expect any video til they told me about this and offered it).
I’m now going to see an elderly relative that couldn’t make it to the wedding, and honestly won’t be around much longer, and I would love to show her the video – if I could get my hands on it. I pointed this out to my friend who still won’t commit to giving it to me.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this video? I am concerned that if I am too pushy they’ll just delete it and tell me it’s gone to get me off their back (though I haven’t asked that much). I really don’t know know what to do.
