@NurseMandie:  I think you’re overthinking it, if they ask you scheduled it at noon because you knew that day was rough being short a person!  Or tell them it’s a dr. appointment and that’s the only time available. 

I regularly schedule appointments at/around the noon hour because of my lunch hour, otherwise working a normal 9-5 I’d never get to the doctor, or other appts!

Just say you have to step out at noon for an appt, simple as that.  You don’t need to give an explanation if its your own lunch hour.

An appointment could mean anything, and there are many places that take appointments at noon as they know that’s when people are able to show up.

I always schedule everything for when I have lunch. I think you should just say I decided to go on my lunch since I knew we were short someone. I don’t think they will think anything of it!
