I was like “party!?!?!”

Then almost burnt down the house and broke a hip falling down the stairs…I had to calm myself down.

I think it is because I lived by myself for so long and I am an only child.

@Double_rainbow:  FI doesn’t go away, but if he isn’t home for hours at a time, I get pretty darn bored.  I am the same as you when it comes to food as well.  I ate cereal the other night before work because I knew he wouldn’t be home to eat with me.

FI is the one that has to sleep alone at night when I’m working.  I just worked Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night and he said it was the hardest thing for him to do.  He missed me a lot and thought it was so strange to be sleeping alone most of the week.

I find it hard to get to sleep when he is gone, as well. I guess I just feel safer when he is there. I am definitely not motivated to cook, because he is the cook in our house, so it is sandwiches and cereal for me too! (But that is usually what I ate before we were together as well, since I hate cooking by myself).

I come from a large family, and have only lived for short periods of time on my own with no roommate, so being in an empty house for multiple days is reallly strange. The first day or two I will enjoy and can be lazy without feeling guilty (he is usually outside working when he has free time). Also, I usually leave the TV on for noise!

Its the opposite for us.  Im the one that travels.  I have no idea what he does when Im not home.  I, on the other hand, sleep like a rock when Im away. Wink

haha fun question. So, I used to live alone and I loooooooooved it. My husband doesn’t go out of town hardly ever. But the one time he did (after we’d lived together for like 2 years) and I THOUGHT I was kind of excited about it. Like yea… I can eat the food he’d make fun of and watch girly tv and do crafts in the living room WOOHOO. Turns out I was just super bored and missed him incredibly. I think I forgot how to be alone haha.

@Double_rainbow:   He’s only been out of town once since we’ve been together, for a four-day golf trip with his buddies.  I missed him so much!  I did the same thing as you, wore his shirt to sleep in.

I can’t watch scary tv or movies, but I sleep awesome when he is away. Plus I have my cat so I’m not completely alone.

@Sunfire:  I fell down about 4 steps…luckly I have some cushion there LMAO!

A whole bunch of stuff went wrong when he was away. I took it as a sign from God that I need him to function lol

My FI only goes out of town twice a year or so, but Every. Single. Time I nearly die. I end up getting horribly sick each time and so now, he’s no longer allowed to travel without me.

I enjoy our time apart – I definitely sleep amazingly well without him in the bed!  I get a lot accomplished when he’s gone – I do tons of cleaning (e.g., his bathroom that he normally doesn’t let me touch!) or do something I’ve been wanting to do but don’t seem to get around to it when he’s there (e.g., DIY, girls night).  I also don’t usually cook – I take the time to go eat at the places I love but he hates (e.g., Indian food!)

DH and i are apart for a month, and i dont sleep well, and i DO NOT cook anything or have the motivation to clean or do any of the other “wifely” duties. haha i just want to come home from work and relax, or i will stay at work longer because i dont have anything to look forward to! I hang out with friends a lot and am packing (because we are moving to another state at the end of the month) DH is already there and has all his stuff so i cant even wear his T-shirt to bed! 🙁 haha but its hard, but we will survive! 2 more weeks!!

I’m okay… I miss him a lot but I’m definitely okay with the alone time. It is SO hard to go to sleep, though!!!
