I have to do lists for every month from now until the wedding. The lists have a few time sensitive tasks to do that month so I don’t fall behind. If it’s not on the list, I don’t worry about it or do any unecessary searches. I find this system works for me because I have the full month to work on those tasks and because theres only a few tasks per month it doesn’t eat up my time. This works for me, maybe not all but it’s worked so far.

I agree with the above post, it is good to make lists and set goals for yourself.  I give me self daily/weekly tasks and also plan for days of not doing any wedding stuff.  This way I still have time to do other things like housework.

I recommend the book A PRACTICAL WEDDING.  The author has a lot of great advice as to how to keep the wedding madness in check.  Primary message – most of it is NOT important. Not worth getting worked up about and sacrificing youu life over. Helps put wedding planning in perspective in a world that wants you to think your wedding day is the pinnacle of your life.

Set up an account on WeddingWire or theknot, and it will give you a month-by-month checklist! So you can get your real-life stuff done, your planning done, and your mindless Pinterest time in, too!

And DEFINITELY read A Practical Wedding! We decided to have a lunch reception with 50 people because of that book! A $12 investment that’s saving us $10,000!

@vanessa7:  I know how you feel 100%. Looking back, I kind of wasted the whole day. I actually just made a to do list for my real life tasks I need to complete tonight. Lets see if I do them though. Ugh. Im subscribing to this and will bump for you later if needed!
