I'm considering a wall decal in our soon to be new bedroom. I like how peaceful some of them  look but i have to admit I'm afraid I'll grow out of it quickly? What are your thought?

I love them!! my husband and I just put some up on our office space over our individual desks. His says " Google it" ( He's a software engineer) and I have one that says "All because two people fell in love" .

The nice thing about decals is that if you grow out of them quickly, you can just take them off! .. Maybe you should consider a more neutral decal that won;t go out of style too quickly

I have a wall decal in our living room because our apartment complex forbids us from painting (and I wanted some color!). I got this one in burgundy red and it looks great! The good part is, you can remove it whenever you want (although I'm sure you won't get sick of it).

I think they are very cutesy so for me I would only use them in a nursery.

I like them but am totally not sure how they work, if they come off easy and leave the paint or not.  I want to do some decals for the baby nursery...

I've seen some decals I really love.  The good news is, if you stop liking the decal, it's really easy to remove/replace with something different.

I'm not into them, but I think that's mostly because they're more modern feeling than what I go for. I also don't buy into a whole lot of trends when it comes to decorating (or dressing for that matter), so they just don't do anything for me.

That said, if you like them, then go for it. It's not like you can't take it down if you hate it!

For you bees that have used them, did they come off as easily as advertised? I guess thats my Fear, once I paint the wall, I don't want to have to paint again anytime soon (FI says its because I paint the interior of a closet like I'm painting the next Mona Lisa ;)

I think it's a cute idea as long as it's not overdone!  Plus, if you grow out of it...they peel off :)  I'm not a fan of the words or sayings though...maybe because I've seen them everywhere.

I honesty don't think they'll rip out the paint because frankly the adhesion is not that strong ( at least mine). I haven't taken them off yet, but while putting them on I noticed that they are barely clinging there. I had to be extra careful when putting them because the thin areas would stay on the paper instead of sticking to the wall . but I'm just guessing. :S

I think they are a bit cute-sy and would probably only use them in a nursery (if that).  But if you think you'll like it, try it!  You can always take it back off if you decide you don't care for it.

I like how they look in pictures, but I'm a bit wary b/c I don't think I've seen one in an actual person's house yet...

YAY! I have one that I bought like 6 months before we moved in to our home (which was a year and a half ago almost) but I want to put it in my dining room and so I'm waiting for it to be painted which is happening in the next month or so.

It says "The fondest memories are made when gathered around the table". Rings so true with my family, after dinner sitting and chatting with full bellies and after dinner coffee is one of my favorite times.

I really like them! Right now we only have one in our nursery above the crib, but I'd consider putting one somewhere else if we had any room. We already have so much crap though!

Love them, especially against a painted wall. We have a few scattered though out the house including a five foot high Eiffel Tower. They add a little something to the room.

LOVE 'em. We have a couple. But if you're not so sure, here's an alternative for you (although it's more permanent).

Paint glossy details in exact same paint color over flat base. Really cool effect. I plan on doing this for a nursery once we're pregnant!

You can make your own designs using the drawer liner contact paper. Allows for more leeway in the "Cute-sy" factor.

@bells: I've seen them at online companies, sorry I don't know which ones... but I'm sure that I've seen them as groupon deals, so if you don't already get their emails, you should~ :-)

I definitely like certain decals for certain spaces.

Cutesy and the like? GREAT for kids rooms!

Live in a very modern home or loft type setting? Then decal away in something hip, chic and modern.

Living in a traditional or century home? ehhh not so much.

I have never used a decal personally but they are supposed to work with the same idea as 3M products (like gelaskins etc) that they are completely removable and (supposedly) won't leave a residue.

    @bells: Try http://dalidecals.com/

That's where I got mine from and they have a lot of customization options in terms of style, size, color, and which way the decals face (you can order it "reversed" if it's a unique design that you need a certain direction on a wall).
