I usually just like to go to dinner with my DH and if they’re around my parents and sister. Then go bck to our place for some cake & ice cream. That’s all. 🙂

We usually have a small brunch with family for my birthday. That’s pretty much it.

I usually just do something special around town with DH.  My sister and I usually go out for dinner as well.

Usually go to dinner with either DH or my family. His bday is next month, we’ll either go to dinner together or with his family. We only have parties for kids until they’re like 5-6.

I love birthdays and think they should be celebrated! I used to have huge parties- bottle service, dj’s etc-  but the older I get the more toned down they get (Ie start earlier and not as wild), but we (our group of friends and some family) usually all still have a blast! Usually we pick a place and all meet up for food and drinks (we will reserve a room or huge table), sometimes we go do silly kid things like have a laser tag birthday party or paintball, we have done wine tours on party buses with all our friends. This year I’m thinking about having a big birthday brunch party, who doesn’t love brunch? My FI’s 30th is this year and I want to surprise him with a big party at our Golf club or maybe a trip to Vegas.

I think a big BBQ sounds fun and not silly at all, it’s an excuse to get evryone together and have fun so why not? Ugh I hate when ppl get older and think they suddenly can’t have fun anymore, you just change the way you have fun!

I’m with BWLE:  I agree that birthdays should be celebrated, especially when you think about how precious life really is.

Anyway, I love making birthdays into a big deal and tend to go a bit overboard.  I’m one of the only ones of my friends who throw myself a birthday party every year, and if you’ve read any of my other posts about my birthdays, I have had themes for the last three years.  This year my husband said, can you please not do a theme and we can just spend all that money on catering food?  He usually ends up stuck at the BBQ, so I agreed that this was a much better idea.  I’m turned 28 next Friday and my mom, sister, SIL, DH and I are going out for a nice dinner that night.  Saturday is the party.  Sunday Mom, sister and I are going for massages.  My DH got me a trip to Denver to see Keith Urban, but had to tell me ahead of time so I could take the time off work.

My DH turned 30 last year, so for 30 days leading up to his 30th, I gave him a gift, some were as simple as a pack of socks, others were things like an ipad mini, tickets to a concert, etc, a surprise birthday dinner with all his friends, etc.  He loved it!

vanessa7:  I turned 37 a few weeks ago. I don’t usually do much for my birthday any more. My fiance and I usually go out for a nice dinner for both of our birthdays. My mom still bakes me a cake with the sprinkles and all! Sometimes I’ll get together with friends for a bonfire or a few drinks. I did this year but didn’t last year. I went to a concert on my 30th birthday on the bar street in my city. My birthday is a holiday and they block off the street. That was fun lol…what i remember anyways!

BWLE:  It was so much fun.  The first day he was so confused as to why I was handing him a wrapped gift.  But every day he was so excited to find out what his gift was.  Sometimes I gave it to him in the morning, other times he had to wait until he got home from work.  His birthday is on Christmas Eve, so he always feels a bit overlooked so I tried so hard to make sure his 30th was that much more special!  Let me know if you need any ideas, and I’ll try to remember everything I got him haha.

Ryansgirl:  I don’t do the whole birthday thing for myself, but I am so stealing your 30 gifts for 30 days thing for DH’s birthday in Febraury. I think that one is important 🙂

vanessa7:  I love to celebrate my birthdays but not in a big way. DH usually just takes me to my favorite lobster house and then takes me to a show or a play. But this year I am turning 30 and I want to do something amazing, but we cant plan anything yet bc we are going to start TTC and if I am lucky and get pregnant we will ned to plan according to that lol
