We do celebratory dinners out too! We cook dinner at home almost every night so a night out is definitely a treat!
Glass of wine+TV+i wear something sexier than shorts to bed. IF he's lucky =]. If it's me we're celebrating, i automatically get a full on back massage, with the nice smelling oil and everything. I just love them so much and hate to spend money on them when he does just a good a job! Puts me right to sleep, too. So relaxing.
We do dinners too! There are so many options around us that we can always try something new!
I like to bake up a special dessert. I just love baking for him because he is so appreciative.
Night out - usually sushi since it's definitely something I can't do at home and it's our favorite meal.
Dinner out to a nicer place where we don't go often, followed by a night out. Or, we will invite friends out to celebrate with us. We write cards to each other often, so definitely a card.
We break out a bottle of champagne. It doesn't take much to persuade me to open a bottle of bubbly! On a side note, I will be totally depressed when we eventually move back to the states and can no longer get champagne for like 14€!
Is it bad that we don't have a certain "special thing for special occasions"? I mean we have date nights every other week or so (we just did sushi and 500 Days of Summer and next we are going to the Dallas World Aquarium). But for the most parts, *shrug* we get really excited and jump up and down (more me than him).
Hmmm I don't know if we do anything particularly unusual to celebrate. Probably the only consistent thing is that we both really hate to plan dates (we do a lot of "what do you want to do? i dunno. what do you wanna do?"), so when we're celebrating one of us the other one plans. It's always nice to know that I'm going to have a whole night and not have to make any decisions. :)
@ Miss Paris - Trader Joes (if your on the west coast) carries a really good prosecco for like $7.
But then, it doesn't take much for me to think Prosecco is really good...you may be pickier!
We're big foodies, so dinner at a new restaurant is usually a big treat for us. :)

Mr. Palm Tree came home late from work today but when he got here he told me he won a really big award at work!!! He had no clue that his boss even nominated him - he was BEAMING! Since it was a surprise to us both I didn't really have much time to plan a celebration so instead I told him I wanted to take him out for a celebration dinner - thats a big deal for us right now because we've really cut back eating out from our budget to save for the wedding.
We decided to do a last minute dinner date - but what are your favorite ways to celebrate special moments with each other?
