I use connoisseur jewelry cleaner in a red tub from Walmart. It works great! The diamonds come out sparkling. But apparently platinum doesn't stay shiny forever, it gets a patina over time and you have to take it to a jeweler to polish it to make it glossy again if you want it to be glossy.
I've not tried this, but perhaps this may help: http://www.ehow.com/how_2000526_clean-platinum-diamond-ring.html
Edit: a few articles say not to use amonia with diamonds, so I would be careful about the above how to...this one recommends a mild soap...

I have never been one for expensive jewelry since im allergic to gold so all i wear is silver. but we have found out im NOT allergic to platiunum, so thats what my ring is made of! yay!
buuuuut i miss the sparkle it has when its shiny and clean. i drop by the jewelers every time i go by for the free cleaning (only takes a minute) but what do you clean it with at home?
im used to just using silver cloths for my regular jewlery, so what goes with platinum and diamonds that wont ruin it???
