I’m a girl that went from a diamond, to a moissanite, and am finally settling on either a london blue topaz or a sapphire. For some reason the clear stones just don’t do it for me. I like the uniqueness behind coloured stones, especially if there’s a story attached. The only thing that makes diamond stand out to me is the durability.

black diamond = to each her own, but not for me. I just don’t dig black or irradiation for myself.

colored gemstones = I wanna see! although I’m a white diamond engagement ring type of girl myself, I probably want your ring as a cocktail ring 🙂

i LOVE black diamonds! They’re actually a lot cheaper than white diamounds. You’re right that they don’t sparkle like white diamonds, but if i had my time again i would get something like this, best of both worlds

@vintagetacky89:  I waffled for what seemed like forever, but eventually settled on london blue topaz. I like sapphire, aquamarine, nice dark green emerald, tourmaline, morganite, regular blue topaz, etc., etc., but the london blue just ran away with me. It sparkles enough for me and it has plenty of depth. In one light it will look almost teal and another dark, smokey blue. I don’t even miss not having a diamond. Pics for referrence…

I did toy with the idea of a black diamond but the hubby was not a fan.

I’m not a big fan of black diamonds, but there’s a huge black diamond pear halo over on pricescope that is to die for.

I’ll see if I can find it…

I like colored diamonds but I don’t like black diamonds. I find the lack of sparkle very unappealing.

I don’t love black diamonds.

They don’t sparkle or have the depth I like.

I do however, love most fancy coloured diamonds, as long as they have good clarity and not opacity!

Black diamonds are really cool, but for my e-ring I wanted a lighter stone so it would sparkle/show the facets more, that’s just the look I wanted. I didn’t really want a white stone either, becuase I wanted some color! I ended up with a morganite and rose gold ring that I love 🙂

I love black diamonds, as soon as I seen one I knew I had to have one. It is all your personal preference. If you like the look, but want more sparkle be sure to get a setting with white diamonds. Also, what i did was make sure to pick the stone out yourself. I wanted one I can see into a bit, i can see a tad sparkle in mine every so often and i can see some of the inclusions in the stone. It gives it character and personality.

I love them, but wanted my engagement ring to have all white stones. I would love one for the future as a RHR though; there are quite a few on here that I’m in love with!
