I am getting married in a church. I keep thinking that I should follow tradition and wear a veil, but I don't think I'm a fan.  I didn't know I wasn't a fan until I tried them on, of course.  I didn't try on too many but I'm not digging the ones I did.  How many of you wore a veil?

My dress has black flowers on it, so I will be going with a black birdcage. I am also planning on dying my hair a vibrant wine red (for lack of a better descriptor), so the black will look a lot better than a white veil. I do want to have some white incorporated in the fascinator though either in the flowers or feathers.

    My option isn't listed!

I'm pretty sure I won't end up wearing anything... haha but if I do, I'd go for a cathedral veil. From one extreme to the next. :)

I think veils can be gorgeous and there aren't many opportunities to wear one in your life! However, I didn't wear one myself. With my dress it would have been too much -- I had tulle wrapped multiple times around the bodice and over one shoulder, as well as a funky ostrich feather on my hip. A veil on top of that would have been way too much.

I'm wearing one because I found a very beautiful organza one with little crystals sprinkled all over it... I love the look of flowers and fascinators too, though!

I'm not a fan of traditional veils because usually the tulle is itchy, doesn't flow or move and just looks very stiff.  I'm going with a fingertip chiffon veil.

If you don't like them don't wear one!  Although, I will say the church weddings I've seen where there was no veil look funny to me.

If your FI has a vision of you in one or your fam wants one you could always wear it for the 10-60 min. of your ceremony and then yank it out.

my dress isn't a real wedding dress, i like to call it a fancy ivory sundress. i think i'll need the veil to make me feel like a bride. plus it's jewish tradition. i wasn't a big fan of the one's i've tried on so far, but i'm pretty sure i'll go with one that's not very traditional.

Headgear is so personal; you should wear what makes you feel like a bride! I wore a veil after swearing up and down that I thought they were silly... turns out I *love* them. Whoops.

I didn't vote because I'm still not sure what I'm doing, and all 4 of those options are currently on the table for me LOL. decisions, decisions....... I love birdcages, but I'm just not sure if that makes me feel as "bridal" as I did when I had a regular veil on. If I do the birdcage, I will also do a feather fascinator. If a regular veil, I'll also have a flower.

I'm not doing a veil either.  I will probably do a feather flower fascinator.  If you aren't feeling it, then you shouldn't wear one.  I've been to church weddings where the bride didn't wear a veil, and I didn't think it was strange at all.

I'll be wearing my sister's veil! I might not have worn one because of the cost, but as it is, I imagine myself wearing her veil (fingertip w/ crystal beading) and having stephanotis in my hair. Birdcages and fascinators aren't my thing. Too much drama, haha.

When I was trying on dresses I didn't really get that "OMG!" feeling till I put on the veil :D :D :D IDK, there's something SO Fabulous and Girly about them! I love my veil!!!

I like birdcages and fascinators on OTHER people, but i could NEVER wear one. IDK, I think I'd look silly with them on.

My veil has a tiny satin ribbon on the edge and little crystals all over it. It's also Ivory and not White.. I love it.. Of course it's from Etsy =]

I wore a headband with a silk flower on it. It worked for me, I never really wanted to wear a veil.

i wasn't a fan of veils until I saw a picture of a mantilla veil. I am not usually a lace person, but something about mantilla veils makes me happy. So, if i do have a veil (the jury is out yet) it will be a mantilla veil, probably made by my FMIL.

I keep going back and forth on the veil question. Part of me wants to wear one to feel more bride-y, but part of me is like - I'm only gonna be wearing it for ceremony and pictures, do I really want to spend the money for something I won't wear that long? I dunno. Either way I'm wearing a swarovski & pearl comb. Whether this is in addition to veil or not is still up for debate.

I'm most likely just going to wear flowers in my hair...but I really love those photos where the bride's veil is like flying all over the place.  I might make a simple veil just to get one of those shots, lol.

You don't have it as a choice, but I didn't wear anything in my hair.  I tried on veils of all types, but I just didn't like how they looked/how they made me feel.  We didn't get married at a church so I didn't feel compelled to have to wear one.

Oh I totally am wearing a veil for the ceremony. But will not be wearing it for pictures or for the reception. So I guess it only has a half hour or so lifespan. Still worth it in my opinion!
