PinkStripes:  I’m in my last year of graduate school (full time) with two part time jobs. One is a great job that I love, and my hope is to continue in that career with a full time position. The other…oi. It’s not horrible, but it’s so draining, and so not related to what I want to be doing for my career. I’ve applied to a different position (teaching) that would mesh much better with my research and hopeful future career, so I’m really, really hoping I get the new job.

I am having that end of degree crisis period right now though where I think to myself WHY? Why did you choose this? Is this going to be sustainable? Did this make sense? Did I choose correctly? AHHHH!

My job is so/so. I took this specific job for hands on patient experience for grad school. It’s pretty slow pace, sometimes the patients can be asses and my supervisor talks waaaayyy too much about politics and religion. On the plus side, I have a good amount of free time, which will really come in handy for studying in January when I start a full-time college course load. I also get an unofficial paid lunch, not bad.

I love my work. It’s something I’ve been planning for a long time. What don’t you like about your job? Have you thought about changing employers or careers? People do it more often than you might think.

I loathe my job. I’ve been there 16 years and the first 15 years were awesome, but we’ve had some major changes in management that have changed the entire company for the worse. I’ll never get promoted now. 30% of our employees have left this calendar year – our turnover rate used to be 2-3 people a year.

I’m hanging in until January 1 so I can get my 2 weeks of Christmas vacation and my defined benefit contribution for 2013, then I’m out. I’m gonna be a SAHW for a while until I figure out a new career path and I CANNOT WAIT.

PinkStripes:  it could be a glitch. Ill let a Mod know your having an issue.

I have a few jobs. I love them all. I get to fulfil all those little parts that would normally be lacking with just one job. Plus, my time is still MY time and I work or don’t as I please.

My job is so-so. Some days are easy, others suck. It’s not the field I want to be in either. Last year I had an amazing job doing what I loved with amazing people. Unfortunately due to my governments stupid policies we were all made redundant. Following that I took whatever job I could get to help with my mortgage, but I’m always on the lookout for something better.

MissKittyBoo:  are you me? Haha. This is exactly how I feel with my job. I’m essentially biding my time in steady and we’ll paying employment until I can be a SAHM and I’m lucky because there will be opportunities for me to come pack as part time after kids if I desire.

I love my job- I just dislike some of the people I work with. It’s a lab setting where we all rely on one another, so if someone slacks off the rest have to do it. This happens way too often for comfort. But with all the benefits and the fast-track promotion system there is definitely more good than bad.

I definitely know how you feel.  My job is okay except it pays too little and my work load is heavy.  I figured it was time for a job change where all of my hard work work can be appreciated so I applied for new job and I have an interview coming up soon.

I’m working several jobs to make ends meet right now. I love two of them and the other is not so great. I’m grateful to have the income though
