I love my current name, I slightly prefer it over what my name will be, but I am looking forward to changing it.

I’m obsessed with it.  I immediately started doodling it the minute we started dating.

It goes realllly well with my first name and people always comment on how pretty it is and how it sounds like an author or politicians name, haha.

My maiden name is so unique and beautiful that I always said Iwould never change it. As soon as this became official I changed my mind and will take his… But it’s not nearly as awesome. It’s unique, but it’s not amazing. Meh.

I’ll miss my maiden name. Just becase it’s my name, and it’s unusual. However, I won’t miss spelling it or pronoucing it for everyone who sees it/hears it and I won’t miss correcting people on it. Also, I won’t miss being Miss U when I teach haha.

I don’t hate the new name, but it’s gonna be odd at first! I’m also moving way up in the alphabet, so that will be fun to get used to haha.

    It’s growing on me.

As I posted recently, his last name rhymes with my first. Initially I wasn’t thrilled about that idea, but it is growing on me. It’s kind of cute and poetic, you know? 😛

The name itself is pretty blah but it’s really the combination with my first name that makes it noteworthy. 😛

I’m not really a fan of my FI’s last name. It doesn’t ‘go’ with my name and I just don’t like the way it sounds. But I will change it because he will love it.

ummm I didnt like it at first, its one of those names that can be made fun of, but then I fell in love with his family and became proud of it. Also I learnt that it really does depend on how you say it, if you say a name with confidence, most of the time it sounds fine

Meh.  His last name is pretty common and mine is rather unusual, but I don’t care either way.

Not married yet, but I imagine it will take getting used to a new last name and signing my new name. I can’t wait to be a Mrs. so I will definetly be changing my last name. At work I’ll be keeping my maiden name to avoid changing my work email and causing any confusion for my clients. I deal with alot of people by email and it would just be a PITA to try and get everyone on board with the name change, everyone at work knows I’ll be married anyways so it’s not a big deal.

@alishaloo:  Have you ever considered dropping your given middle name and taking your maiden name as your new, legal middle name?  That’s what I did, and I love all three of my names together! (This is actually the formal, traditional manner in which women in the US changed their names, but very few of my friends chose to do it.) I’m really glad I did, however.

@alishaloo:  You cant possibly have the most awesome maiden name as that was definately mine (okay maybe only in my eyes)and now Im married Im happy to share that my maiden name was ANGEL.

    and I changed my name

It hurt and it seems surreal, though we only got married last week, I think that this is something that will take me a lifetime to get used to but it was important to my husband that I accept it so I did.

Sigh. Its not a common name Ive changed to but something Ill have to spell to people for the rest of ever. Im looking forward to if I ever have kids they’ll have awesome answers to the mothers maiden name question!

I always told people the reason why I want to get married is to change my last name! I always have to spell it out and pronounce it for everyone because they mis-pronounce my last name it makes me cringe. They can’t butcher his last name!
