Stop sharing information with her then.

@JJSoon2bwife14:  I’m the kind of person that would tell her the exact opposite of what I wanted, or something that was completely repulsive, just to see if she dcided to follow me in that as well.

However, the far more mature thing to do would be to stop sharing information. Be vague but don’t give details if you feel that you must. Otherwise, she’s just going to keep copying you.

But hey…feel special that you are so awesome in her eyes that she wants to copy you.

I don’t think you’re overreacting per se , but I wouldn’t let the fact that she’s getting or has a ring similar to the one you like stop you from getting it.  Unless you’re getting something custom, there’s going to be someone else who has the same ring as you.  Yeah it’s annoying, but it’s not the end of the world.

That’s kind of sad…. Both her SO being in jail, and also her need to match and/or copy you.  But yeah, if you see her this way, I say stop sharing.

I outgrew those friends shortly after college ended. There’s no real place in your adult life for people who aren’t supportive and mature.

It’s all about low self esteem.
I wouldn’t be above lying about future plans, or at least concealing them from her, in the future. This is what I had to do with someone I know and it’s much better with some space (I wonder if she’s copying someone else now? lol)

@JJSoon2bwife14:  I have a friend that’s like that and my best advice is to just stop sharing information with her. That’s what I did.

@JJSoon2bwife14:  I wouldn’t tell her another thing. In some ways it’s flattering that she takes everything you describe and gets it for her and her FI, but it’s super annoying.

@JJSoon2bwife14:   What?! It’s so cute (sarcasm) that they try to model their relationship after you two, but they should really find what works for themselves. Imitation is relationship suicide.
