I went when the tip of my finger was nearly detached. Darling Husband made me. Bleeding doesnt mean you need an ER. What matters is where and how deep.

how deep is it? do you think it will scar when healed?

How deep is it? If you can see bone, go to the ER.

Edited: I clearly posted the wrong comment in the wrong thread!  Ahh, sorry, haha!  Sorry I don’t have any helpful advice, I hope you feel better soon  and heal quickly!

@ladeeeda:  if it’s over the knuckle, I’d go and get it looked at at least bc they take a little longer to heal (it’s a bendy area), we’ll usually stitch those up (depending on how long. Can’t stitch them if it’s over a certain amount of time from the injury bc of risk of infection so waiting until the morning may make someone say they won’t close it anymore.  All wounds wil heal eventually, we like to help them along when we can 🙂

If it is longer than a 1/2 inch and the sides aren’t touching you might need stitches. I think it is also that plus if it doesn’t stop bleeding after 30 min. I am pretty sure thats the rule of thumb… (punny)
