I spot for about two days until AF really shows. That’s about it. I occasionaly get cramps but that’s not usually a sign for me, I usually get them on my first heavy day.

Sorry your having a painful day. That sucks.

well before I started charting to avoid… I had no clue because I had what I thought was an ‘irregular’ cycle. I just have crazy unpredictable ovulation dates… and I vary from (30 to 40+ day cycles) But I know about 12 days prior when AF is coming because of my temps 🙂 I also get another varification when my temps plummet the day (or day before) AF shows. I thought I used to break out around AF time.. but I learned I actually break out around ovulation time.

As for symptoms.. my back normally starts to ache… and I think.. “ugh, why does my back hurt” and then that turns into full on cramps once AF arrives. But onces she rears her ugly head it’s cramps galore and bloatiness.

Cramps, slight headaches, and I’m emotional. Seriously, I was in denial that my mood changed that much, but I’ve realized now that my emotions are all over the place about two days before. Ugh.

@NurseMandie:  I’m actually fine once Aunt Flow gets here, but for the week before I take on water like the Titanic, I crave salt and sugar and nothing else, I’m exhausted, but I can’t sleep and my boobs feel like their going to explode….it all culminates with some emotional melt down over an inconsequential detail….I share a bottle of wine with Mr. 99, pass out and wake up doing to the No Baby Dance…and all is well with the world for another 28 days.

I have serious hormone problems (always have) and my periods are so irregular and erratic that my symptoms are always really intense. I don’t have cramps, thank goodness. But I get migraines, cravings, fatigue (more like exhaustion) and I get CRAZY emotional and irritable. Sometimes I feel badly for my SO,  but she’s a girl so she sorta understands (even though she doesn’t pms at all).

Usually these only last for about a day because when they happen, I start a strict regime of no electronics (helps with migraine and irritability), no caffine (same), intense aromatherapy all day long (same) and caffine free herbal teas (helps with mirgraines, fatigue and emotional stuff sometimes). By the end of the second day, I’m usually back to normal or at least in a place I can easily manage instead of taken over by my symptoms.

    Back Pain.

My back will become so painfully tight and sore that it will hurt to drive or even walk. Once I figure out that I didn’t pinch a nerve or something I figure out that Aunty is on her way…

I have really clear skin and hardly ever get any type of pimples, but it never fails – every month about 3-4 days before I get my period I will get a single pimple on my chin. Every.single.time. Now when my FI sees a pimple on my chin he always goes, “uhh ohh…” haha

I also start to get moody and sometimes (not always) crave sweets.

I get backaches about 3-5 days before, also I break out like clockwork the few days before (like 3-5 days) but it’s usually cleared up by the middle point. I used to get cramps all the time but now it’s just the backaches and maybe a cramp every now & again. I also start spotting for the 2-3 days before hand. I get super emotional right before also, like crying driving to work about a friggin commercial…. I used to get nosebleeds when I was younger but that hasn’t happened for 10+ years now….

I become the most misserable and grumpy person (and always wonder why I’m so grumpy for a few days before the sudden realisation!) My skin also breaks out, which is a massive pain, I thought you were meant to stop getting spots by your 30s!

This will sound weird, but my right knee starts to swell and the joint gets incredibly sore, without fail in 1-2 days, my period has started. Never understood it.

I get super grumpy for one day exactly a week before.

And then a few days before I am usually ravenous. I could eat all day. I’m also not much of a sweet eater, but a couple days before I do crave some sweets.

And then I get acne the whole week before. It’s annoying! But my skin is great all other three weeks of the month.

Well my BC pills tell me when I’m going to start so I always know, BUT…there are always signs.

I get a little emotional. Things irritate me more than normal. I retain tons of water. I craaaave sweets. Like, I demolish the candy bowl at work lol.
