I plan to use the peel and stick white board sheets (I got a 2-pack for $7 at Homegoods, I believe they advertise them for cabinet doors).  I plan to cut the shapes out of foam core, apply the white board sheet, and trim.  To finish it off I plan to paint or use marker to outline the shapes to make them pop.  For the marker holder I am going to put a clip on the back so it is not in the pictures.

Michaels just started carrying these already cut out but in chalk board form instead if you are interested.

NotFroofy made these for our DIY fauxtobooth.  The basic shape was cut out of a piece of foam core.  She then cut out a piece from a self-stick dry erase roll from Resources for Reading, the same size as the foam core, and stuck it on.  She used paint markers to outline the edges so they would be easier to see in photos.
