How do you pronounce the name Avery?
I know technically how it’s supposed to be pronounced, but I hear people say otherwise so I’m curious to see what the majority of all you bees think. We’re considering this name for our little girl.

I would say it varies based on where the speaker is from. Here down south you’d probably get a whole different pronunciation, as you would if you were in NJ or Seattle.
PS – Love that name!

I use the two syllable shortened version but either is appropriate.

I *think* it should be 3 syllables (like, that is knowledge in my head,) but I think I would end up pronouncing it 2.

It is my male cousin’s middle name and it always kind of gets glossed over/mushed, but if I’m thinking it through, I do 3 syllables.

I pronounce it with 2 syllables – A-vree.
