    @omglauren:  there’s another way. coop-un. i don’t use that but i’ve heard it many, many times. i think it’s a southern pronunciation.

    I say COO-pon.  I’ve heard CUE-pon and COOP’n, too.

    In french, ”ou” is a similar sound as ”oo”, not ”ew”. So cue-pon would be ‘wrong’, but I assume the people who correct you pronunce the ”n” at the end of the word, and that is incorrect in French, hehe.

    We all have regional accents. My FI is from another city in Québec and he doesn’t pronounce all words the same way I do. There are noticeable differences in our accents. So either way, cue-pon or coo-pon, I understand what you’re talking about and it’s not an issue. 😛

    @omglauren:  according to the dictionary, both are correct! I say cue-pon, though. Also…I totally knew what the question would be just by reading the title to the thread! lol

    I say it closer to coo-pon.  Though now I’ve thought about it too much so the word just sounds weird any way 😛

    Another vote for coo-pon, although I hear it many ways in my area. None of them sound weird to me.
