I recently got married and changed my name Previous card had first name, middle initial, and last name, and that’s how Ihad signed it. New card has first name, full middle name, and new last name. Do I sign it as it reads, or without middle name??

It’s always been my understanding that the signature should match what’s on the card (so with full middle name on your new card), but I’m not sure if that’s fact or just what I was taught.

Your signature needs to match, exactly, the name that is on the card. So if it’s first middle last, you need to sign first middle & last.

So, you’d sign your card with your full first name, full middle name and your new last name. I’ve never heard of a social security card simply having a letter to stand in for a middle name. Mine has my full and complete name on it.
