Ask his parents/friends? Or maybe, during a conversation with him, mention how awesome you think they are and ask what he thinks of them? Maybe then slip in a question of how well his works? If he talks about his- he has one! If he says he only wishes he had one- you buy him one! 🙂

Send a facebook message to one of his friends? Or have his mom ask?

Don’t worry–there are lots of things I forget DH doesn’t like. Like cherries and cream cheese. It’s not like I’ve been around him a ton! Food is the biggie I forget about and/or just don’t know.

I agree with rabbit about just mentioning it in conversation.  Don’t worry, I think there is a lot of stuff I don’t remember about my husband half the time!

I would say just mention it in a conversation. Say something like “oh my friend so and so just got that new iPod touch! Do you have an ipod?” and that’ll be the end of it!

Here’s way’s I’ve planned around my fiance: coworkers, roommates.

for example: I was planning a surprise visit, I called his roommate so they could leave a key out somewhere for me.  The plan worked marveously since it was after dark when I showed up.

So funny!  I got close to his mom and brother fairly quickly and we emailed about thing like gift ideas.

Sometimes I would drop several hints to feel around a little bit like ” oh baby, there’s this great song I heard…you should put it on your ipod” and see what his response is.  Then it sounds innocent!

Good luck!

haha I joke that my FI loves his iPod more than me…

Do you have one? I’d be like “Store XYZ is having a sale & I totally want a new iPod…” and ask for his opinion. Guys love to teach girls tech stuff & he’ll totally tell you if he has one or not in his response!

oops I didn’t answer your question! Besides the last 5 months, I was usually at Mr.RB’s house every 6 weeks, so thats when I did all my snooping. lol if I did need to find something out I would actually just ask him point blank… I suck at surprises.

Tell him your thinking about getting a new iPod and ask what version he has and if he likes it.

My FI and I were in a n LDR for four years. I like to play the “acting dumb” card to get information. All I mean by that is I pretend to be very curious or confused about something. I actually had a conversation about iPods with him once, in which I asked, “So…I am so confused. What is the difference between all of the different kinds of iPods?”

It was a perfectly honest question. I don’t have an iPod so sometimes I forget which is which. But then it allowed him to tell me all about HIS iPod. Tee hee.

Good luck!
