I love yellow and orange together...I think if you want to avoid it looking too fall-ish, you just have to do a brighter orange vs. a more deep fall orange.
Think citrus instead of fall.. couple it with other summery colors like yellow, pink, green ,etc. No dark colors and no greenery! It will make it seem fall-ish. I think orange will look awesome in a summer wedding!
i like the yellow too...
we're doing orange and turquoise. our wedding is in the fall, but i think those colors could work for summer as well, depending on the shades.
What color for bridesmaid dresses? like a leaf/apple green? could I do champagne dresses?
I like Laylabelle's idea. If you use it with light air-y colors it will work great!
Here are a few weddings on Style Me Pretty that incorporate orange. I also love the orange, navy blue, and white preppy look - http://www.stylemepretty.com/?s=orange&x=0&y=0
I would do pops of orange with a lot of white and pale gray for a modern look, and maybe add light blue touches like the summer sky, if you wanted more color.
My wedding is next May in Texas and we're doing oranges (regular orange mixed in w/lighter cantaloupe-type colors) & aquas with occasional splashes of yellow.
I plan on incorporating fresh oranges and lemons in with my centerpieces.
We're doing orange, yellow and turquoise! I sure hope it doesn't look fall-y because my wedding is in July ;) I'll attaching a picture board :)
We're doing orange for our summer wedding! I'm so excited to find another orange bride. I also didn't want to do orange and pink... instead we went for orange, green (think more like a grass green than a deep green), and touches of dark purple. Here's our inspiration board:
Definitely shades of yellow and turquoise! Or gold is pretty, too.
Or bright purple! I like bright purple and orange =]
Aquas, lime greens, pinks and bright yellows are good for a summer vibe. Really I think as long as you keep away from darker reds it should feel summery and not fall like.
I thnk orange is really summery, especially coral shades. I also love yellow with orange and especially yellow BM dresses. Just stick with a bright orange instead of that fall burnt orange and you'll be fine for summer. I would love an orange BM dress but I don't think everyone can wear orange so I'd check with your BMs before making that decision.
I'm getting married in May as well. Our colors are various shades of orange with navy as an accent color. We are having an outdoor wedding, so I'm aiming for a rustic chic look, and thankfully don't have to do a lot with decorations (no linens, no floral centerpieces, no uplighting, etc...) My two bridesmaids are wearing different navy dresses, in the same material. I chose navy over a more springy color so they can wear the dresses again, and the orange bouquets will be super sharp against their navy dresses! To be honest, I think I'm as excited about their dresses/look as I am my own! We are all carrying orange bouquets (lillies, circus roses, alstroemarius, and three shades of orange mini gerbera daisies). We are also using about 4 shades of orange paper lanterns (round) in various sizes to hang from the rafters of our building.
I really wanted a fall wedding, but didn't want to wait another 5-6 months, and my parents were opposed to moving it earlier. So I'm just doing what I want, and trying to keep it more bright, than the deep fall oranges.

I really want Orange for my Texas Summer wedding, but I don't want it to look like a Fall wedding. I know Pink and Orange go well, but I'm trying to think of another color scheme with orange. Any Ideas?
