All I can say, is that stone is beautiful!  I bet it sparkles like crazy.

In my opinion, the biggest difference between the “high end” CZs and significantly cheaper ones lies in the color. Ashas, WinkCZ, etc. are usually made in (or can be specially ordered in) slightly warmer tones, like the diamond equivalent of a F-H, which off sets a lot of the glassy, extremely white/gray and blue cast that lower end CZs tend to have. Instead of blue-gray, higher quality ones appear white with more depth and no gray or blue undertones.

I can see a lot of the glassiness in this CZ, especially in the pictures where you have it perched on the white paper towels. When I was trying to pick out the right center stone, I bought a handful of ten cent ebay CZs from China in various sizes. They all this same kind of too white, blue-gray flat color to them, especially when set next to the H color Asha which is now my center stone.

If it really was very cheap and you wouldn’t mind it potentially shattering, maybe consider baking it? It sounds crazy but lots of women on the BTD forums have done it with moderate success:

It just gives the stone depth and tends to remove the blue-gray of it.

@CollegeBee3:  Not… really… because if it was picking up reflected colors from around it, it would mostly be in the facets and you could still see the true color of the stone underneath. In this one, the whole cast of the stone is hazy grey-blue. You can even see it in the first picture, which what I suspect is the vendor picture.

I’m not trying to be mean, but I suspect you really want this to look like a diamond. I don’t blame you! I wanted mine to look like a diamond too! But then you have to shell out a little more and get something that doesn’t have that blue-gray tone to it.
