I actually don't think it's a good deal. Carnations are a very inexpensive flower and $600 for mainly carnation arrangements is expensive. I would like to add my wedding is the NY/NJ area where things are VERY expensive, and I gotten better flower deals here. I say shop elsewhere! Tell the florist what you want, and tell them your ceiling budget (lower than what it actually is) and they will meet it.
Well, I have never bought flowers before in abundance like this. My Aunt is GREAT friends with a florist. The florist assured me that she would give me a great deal and she did say that she has NEVER done a wedding for this cheap. It almost seemed too good to be true, but it's true. She REALLY gave me a GREAT price. I just needed the reassurance on that.
@Schrutebeets: Chicago is also VERY expensive. For less flowers I was quoted OVER $1000.
@mandy83ala: Yes, but not for carnations, which are much cheaper than other types of flowers.
