just wondering how your ring fits when its winter VS when its summer. I know that if you have a snug fit ring, it’s a lot tighter in the summer because your fingers swell, and someone loser in the winter because they aren’t all swelled up.
My ring is going to be a bit tight (so very snug) and i’m worried that when he proposes i won’t be able to get it on! (because we might be outside). I have tried on a size 5 and it fits great, but when it gets really hot, it’s harder to get on.
What are your experiences with it?

Ugh, now that it’s summer in DC, I can never get my rings off in the mornings. Later in the day it’s fine, but it’s very annoying when I’m trying to go to the gym and I have to RIP my stupid wedding ring off my hand! haha it was fine right up until the weather turned. Putting them back on is no problem, though.

i totally find in this heat wave my ring is fitting much snugger. I’m interested to see how it is this winter.

I haven’t been engaged that long so I haven’t worn my ring in the winter/cooler weather, but I definitely notice a difference between my frigid, air conditioned office and my 90 F + walk back home. My fingers swell really easily, so I got my ring sized a half size up just in case.
My only suggestion is to carry around an ice bucket so that when the moment comes, you can cool down your hand really quickly–I know, it’s the worst advice ever.

I usually wear 3 rings and today I am wearing one…too swollen

I’m in DC too, my ring is a bit lose in the winter. Not to the point of falling off or anything, but definitely not tight. Now, in the DC heat, it gets a bit tight, but I can still get it on and off pretty easily. Try to get your fingers to room temp and then try on rings. That way it’s right in the middle and the changes in weather won’t make the ring way too loose or way too tight.

I couldn’t get mine on a few times because my fingers were swollen! That has not happened before. It’s this ungodly heat!

haven’t had that issue yet. it fits perfectly now that it’s summer, but I’ve been wearing my e-ring since november last year and didn’t have an issue then either.

After walking the dog in the morning, getting my rings on is a beeotch, even after a lukewarm shower to de-grossify myself. And after the evening walk, fuggedaboutit. This ungodly mid-atlantic heat and humidity will be the death of me. My headstone will read, “Here lies Lovekiss. She hated summer. Summer hated her. Summer won. The end.” I will take a slightly loose in the winter ring any day!

My ring is fine in midrange weather but now that it is hotter, my ring gets so tight at times that I can’t take it off. It doesn’t get lose enough to fall off in the winter though which is a good thing.

In the summer/heat, my ring fits perfectly. But as soon as I get cold or step into a room with AC, I can spin it around my finger. I heard it will fit less loose with a wedding band though.

Mine is the same way. I think my real finger size is 6.25 or 6.5 but my ring size is a 7 b/c of this. I rather have them a bit looser (not so loose that they fall off) so when it’s hot and my fingers swell, they are still comfortable.

@romantical: This is true. I used to wear stacked wedding bands and it did fit better. but then sometimes, it would be too tight! I just can’t win. 🙁

In summer my ring fits, generally. In the winter it spins and spins. The rock falls as gravity dictates… it’s like my finger isn’t even there. Sigh.

I’m getting muffin top on my sausage fingers -_- probably the unsexiest thing and it’s ruining the beauty of the ring. I can’t wait till winter. My ring is perfect, even just a tad loose in the colder weather
