I wasn’t sure whether to post this on flowers or diy or logistics, but here goes: We are doing our own reception centerpieces.
The reception starts at 7pm, the ceremony starts at 4:30, but we (meaning mother of the bride and MOH) have to be at the house for prep photos by noon at the latest.
How early can I put out rose petals without their dying and looking sad at 7pm?

Is the reception indoors or outdoors? This makes a difference because if it’s outdoors, temperature and sun vs shade will affect the petals.

Do you plan to pull the petals off the roses yourself or buy petals separately? If the former, you’ll probably be fine putting them out before noon for an evening wedding. If the latter, it will depend on how fresh the petals are/how they’ve been stored. I always buy roses specifically for petals if I’m using them in decor; they keep better than pre-plucked petals.
