to be having wedding nightmares? My wedding is over a year away and we just starte planning and haven't done much at all but I've been having a wedding nightmare almost every night since we got engaged - two weeks ago today.

I dreamt the DJ refused the play the music i like, dreamt my flowers were the wrong color, I dreamt two old friends came and messed up the wedding by bringing a whole sack of red plastic cups....

is this what my life will be like for the next yr? gosh lol

Hahaha! The nightmares are TERRIBLE! Mine started around 8 months before the wedding and they come and go in waves. It usually has to do with how stressed I am. For example, I couldn't find a seamstress to alter my dress for like a month and I had the worst nightmares! Mine usually had to do with the ceremony like my dress fell off as I processed down the aisle, so I stood half-naked in the church or I wasn't ready on time and everyone was yelling at me, etc.

Try to examine what about the wedding may be making you anxious and try to remedy it! That's what usually works for me. (:

    Everything will turn out great!

    Good Luck ladies :)

i just had one last night!!!! for some reason, the day wasn't even on our wedding day, all the guests arrived late, hair and makeup wasn't done (rushed only 30 mins before the ceremony), as everything and everyone was late- guests were getting antsy, my dad didn't walk me down the aisle, and the music we chose wasn't right!

like onada, my wedding is over a year away! funny thing is, in my dream, i burst out in tears, and i remember kind of and wailing in real life with my FI sort of looking at me weirdly... hahaha that was kind of funny!

I'm not even engaged yet and I had the worst wedding nightmare EVER the other night. Oh it was terrible and for about 30 seconds I wondered if it was a sign that I shouldn't even get engaged. Got over that soon enough, though. Tongue out

Oh lord, I started having wedding dreams/nightmares about a month into our engagement and we've been engaged for over a year and still have about 8 months to go. Funny enough, I actually had a wedding nightmare last night but it wasn't even my wedding, and the girl whose wedding it was isn't even ENGAGED! Ridiculous.

Honestly, if it's becoming a problem, give yourself a cut-off for wedding stuff at night. For example, no more wedding blogs/wedding talk after 9pm. That might help with the dreams.

I had them before I was even engaged!! I think it's normal. Your brain processes all the junk you dealt with during the day, so of course the wedding is a big topic! Just remember: Of course a few things will go wrong, but the day will still be beautiful, amazing and perfect!

I had wedding nightmares before I got engaged! It's not uncommon, don't sweat the small stuff and it'll be easier.

My nightmares started last month or so, 10 months out.  As other has said, my nightmares seem to come in waves.  There was a time last month when I had wedding related dreams/nightmares that lasted a week long.  The past few weeks have been sans nightmare but that could be because I don't really sleep.

Some wedding dreams are just so weird, arent' they?

I was freaking out at first too, but once I started getting organized and remembering what a capable amazing woman I am (I promise, I'm not narcisistic), I was okay.

You'll do great planning this year! You just need to remind yourself of that!

I had a dream that Kanye West stole my venue for a NYE party. I had this was right after he stole the mic from Taylor Swift btw. Totally the connection.

    @ OP

I got engaged two weeks ago too, and our date is in September as well, what a coincedence!

I haven't had nightmares, just things actually go wrong, not anything dramatic (another couple wants to use the church the same day, so we had to narrow down our ceremony time to see if it would work ... but we were hoping to not have to narrow down a ceremony time until after we had our reception figured out).
