You should absolutely buy right away. It takes a lot longer then you would expect. I bought my dress in sept and it wont arrive until late march and I'm getting married in June. And once it comes in you have to get alterations.Especially if you are looking for a designer such as pnina I would suggest right away. But beware that you could find another that you like as time goes on. However if you put it on and it's the one...then it is aboslutely the one and no other dress will compare. Best of luck. Post pictures when you can I would love to see it.
I say buy it! If you know that is the dress and you love it, then get it. But just stop looking after you buy it because you would HATE to find another one!
I bought mine a year out.....
I'd say as long as you've tried on others and are ceratain you've found the one, go for it!
Definitely not too early. I bought my dress at 16 months out and don't regret it at all. The only "problem" is that you can't go dress shopping anymore, which isn't a big deal to some people. If you're sure it's the one, go for it!
If you've been looking at dresses for months and that one still absolutely positively stands out in your mind, and the price is going to be right, then I think you should get it. But once you've paid for it, stop looking at other dresses! At some point, you need to simply be done dress shopping.

Hi all, I've been debating with myself over purchasing my dress next month. I'm not getting married till July 2011, but I've been looking at dresses for about five six months now. The VERY FIRST dress I picked out, this exquisite Pnina Tornai (and indeed, the only Pnina OR princess dress I've ever really cared for), is still unbudgingly my dream dress. There are lots of other dresses that have caught my eye, dresses I consider beautiful or unique, but none of them have really felt like a true wedding dress to me, they're just a pretty dress I'd be getting married in. The Pnina doesn't feel like that. I recently found out that it's under $10k, within my budget, AND it will be 12.5% off at the Pnina Tornai sample sale at Kleinfeld next month. So my question is this: do you think January 2010 is too early to buy a wedding dress for July 2011?? I could get this sweet deal on it (just because I'm spending a lot on my dress BY NO MEANS we have an unlimited budget, in fact the dress will probably be more of our budget than it is of must people's, and a discount on it would be incredible) and I'm worried that the dress will go out of production if I wait till much later, since it's a 2007 model! My sense of style has remained almost constant since I was fifteen (only has matured a little, the basic elements I love are all still there: very feminine, a bit free-spirited and artistic, lots of lace, satin, and rich fabrics), so I'm not worried that I'll grow to dislike it. I'm definitely a girl who knows what she loves.
I can't decide. What do you ladies think? How many of you have had dress buyer's remorse, and how far out had you purchased it?
ALSO, I should add that I am a full-time student and my wedding plans will simply come to a screeching halt while school is in session. Another thing that tears at me about this decision is that I'll probably be in NYC next summer and, with a year left till the wedding at that point, that's be a much more "appropriate" time to pick out a dress, and I'd have plenty of time to wander around the city and look.
Decisions, decisions. :/
